Willie Grubbs started selling furniture in the 1950's at Carter's Furniture in a South Carolina town called Holly Hill. Mr. Grubbs managed this location until 1954 when was sent to Carter's St. Matthews, SC store as its manager. He managed the Carter's Furniture St. Matthews location until 1967 when he decided to start his own business, Grubbs Furniture and Appliances. David Grubbs, Willie Grubbs' son grew up working in the family business through High School and even College. He took over management of the store in 1990. David suffered from heart disease and sadly passed away in 2001. David Grubbs David Grubbs Adam Arant, the oldest grandchild of Willie, was offered the responsibility of running the family business. Like his uncle David, Adam grew up working in the family business through High School and College. He decided to leave his career in law enforcement and carry on the family business. Today, the business is still family owned by Mr. Willie Grubbs and his grandson Adam. Mr. Grubbs is still an active employee along with Cleon Crider who has been with Grubbs Furniture for over 40 years. We are proud to have associates like Cleon who take pride in our company and the customers and communities we serve. For over 43 years this family business has taken pride in treating customers with respect, and providing great service on the products they sell.
