Overall
I always liked going to my Pro...

I always liked going to my Provident branch. It was usually after I had to go to Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Washington Mutual and waiting in long lines. It was refreshing the last bank on my trip there was no line. I should have asked myself why wasn't there a line.

They will nickel and dime you over the major banks. Online banking for businesses is free with Citibank and Bank of America, yet an additional charge with Provident. With Citibank if you have a Business account your personal account is free. Free checks, money orders, cashiers checks and no service fees. Provident charges for the same services. Citibank has an overdraft protection plan that the only fee is an annual $5, Bank of America charges my business $10 per $100. If I need $15 they automatically give $100 to cover future outstanding checks and payments you may have made. Provident will give you $9 (or what you need) and charge you $7 the next day $9 (or what additional you need) and charge an additional $7 and so on.

You can go in with $283,000 open 2 savings accounts an open a personal checking account and business checking account and tell them you want overdraft on both accounts, but you won't get it. They will tell you they have a complimentary feature on their business accounts. What it is is the standard charge of $29 per transaction they cover for you. Basically the same if you did not have an overdraft protection. Not a good thing for a business that might have a customer bounce a check or a customer who's check was returned by their bank because the signature looked odd.

Provident's management staff will lie directly to your face and tell you they will cover everything, tell you they will leave notes stating for items to be manually override so they won't bounce. Then the next day you can have a teller tell you basically everything you heard on the phone and in person was a lie. There is a reason the lines are short.
