Unitech is scamming my home warranty company. Our home inspector recommended we have our improperly installed dishwasher drain line fixed with a high drain loop. I called to tell him this is what we needed since the home warranty company just tells them the appliance they will be working on with minimum to no details. The technician, Emet, who arrived from Unitech had no intention of fixing it. He had a zip tie in his hand when he walked in my front door. When he saw that we do not have an air gap (the harder, more expensive way to install a dishwasher drain line) he tried to leave and said asked me to drill a hole in my granite countertop for one to be installed before he'd do anything. He even said, "It's not hard, you could do it". I mentioned the other (easier and still reliable) way to do it-- a high drain loop installation. He was surprised I knew that was a solution, and made excuses and still tried to leave without doing anything. I insisted he fix it. He huffed and puffed at me and said he'd see what he could do. Emet PRETENDED to use a power drill under my sink while I went to tell my husband this isn't going well. One minute later, I come in the kitchen, he's closed the cabinets under my sink and is leaving in a rush. I ask if there is anything for me to sign. He said no and left immediately. I check under the sink, all he did was zip-tie the clogged drain line to our retractable faucet's slack line. So nothing is fixed and now my faucet can't retract. USELESS. When the home warranty company called him to come back out and correctly fixed it, he declined. So he got paid to literally make my problem worse and is completely unaccountable. Lastly, he called days before to say he'd be there on a set day sometime between 9am-noon. The morning of, he called my husband's number instead of mine at 7:30am to say he was 30 minutes away, might not sound like an issue but he works shift work, and I was the one he'd been in contact with.
