Ingrown toenails have a habit of getting worse the longer they go untreated, so make sure you take care of your toe as soon as possible.

Corns
If your case of hammertoe is not too extreme, there are helpful nonsurgical treatment options such as changes in footwear, orthotic devices and padding for corns and calluses. When a hammertoe has become rigid, painful, or an open sore has developed, it’s time to look at surgical treatment. Sometimes surgery is the only option to fully restore normal alignment of the toe (s).

He completed his residency and surgical training at Madigan Army Medical Center, Ft. Lewis, Washington. From 2006-2010 he was in private practice in Billings, Montana. He moved to Puyallup, Washington in January of 2011 to join the Family Foot Clinic, Inc. and continue in the rich tradition of providing exceptional podiatric care for the greater Puyallup area.
Bunions Problems
TA bunion is a bony bump located at the base of the big toe. It can be painful when it rubs against the shoe. Hallux abducto valgus is the medical term used to describe the position of the big toe, and is generally used together with the term bunion which describes the enlarged joint. Bunions are one of the most common big toe problems. Treatment for bunions often includes needs for surgical intervention to address the bony deformity.

You’ve probably heard of a hammertoe – it’s a term that is commonly used to describe a toe deformity. The hammertoe condition is a bending abnormality of one or both joints of the little toes. The middle toe joint becomes out of alignment and the toe bends or curls downward instead of pointing forward. This puts pressure on the toe when wearing shoes, which causes problems like pain and discomfort.
Heel Spurs
Plantar fascia is a layer of tough fibrous tissue that runs along the bottom of your foot and supports your arch. This is one of the longest and strongest ligaments in the body. As the plantar fascia pulls on the heel, your body will respond by laying down more bone in the area. This can be seen on an x-ray and is known as a heel spur. Treatment for this condition often includes shoe modifications, stretching exercises, anti-inflammatory medications, cortisone injections, custom orthotics and possibly surgery.

You can usually self-diagnose this condition by identifying pain, redness, or swelling on a toe – typically the big toe. Ingrown toenails are a condition where the side or corner of a toenail grows into the skin and can be caused by a number of things.
Foot Neuroma
A Morton’s Neuroma is a common foot problem consisting of a benign tumor-like enlargement of a nerve at the ball of the foot. It is usually located between the third and fourth toes, occasionally between the second and third. This condition is not a true tumor but rather a thickening of the tissue around the nerve. Symptoms of a Morton’s Neuroma include sharp pain, burning sensation and even a lack of feeling in the area. It is usually worsened by walking and pressure on the ball of the foot. Treatment of this problem includes shoe modifications, orthotics, cortisone injections and if necessary, surgical excision of the neuroma.
Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar Fasciitis (pronounced plan-tar fash-ee-eye-tis) is a common cause of heel and foot pain in adults. “Plantar” means the bottom of the foot; “fascia”is a type of connective tissue, and “itis” means “inflammation”. The classic symptoms of plantar fasciitis include heel pain that is usually most severe first thing in the morning. This condition is characterized by inflammation at the insertion point of the plantar fascia on the heel bone.
