Amatos Italian Grill

Let me start off by saying I am a new York native that's been in search of a half way decent Italian restaurant since I first arrived in Florida..

I've been sadly disappointed at the restaurants in the broward county area and then I landed myself in the pompano Citi centre mall for a day of shopping when I stumbled upon a cozy Italian restaurant called Amato's. The decor is very warm and inviting and the music was simply delightful! I'm a huge Sinatra fan and they were playing some of his best!

I was promptly greeted by an extremely friendly server & she made me feel at home!

I started off with their home made pasta fagioli and some of the freshest rolls I've ever tasted- They literally melted in my mouth! The menu had everything you could ever imagine- but I decided to keep it simple with a penne ala vodka & of course I had to try a slice of their pizza.

The slice was honestly the closest I've had to a NYC pie since I've been in Florida.. Thin and crispy with a soft chewy crust.. It was to die for! Then came the penne ala vodka and it was equally as impressive.. It was very obvious they use only Fresh ingredients and the pasta was cooked perfectly.. Al dente. I was even visited by the owner herself which showed me they really care about their customers..

Needless to say this is my new favorite Italian restaurant and I will be back again!
