Thacker's Transmission Service

They FIXED our transmission and my car tore up beside the road 15 minutes with a huge BANG! It had to be towed back to them. They have fixed it again within the first 6 months of the first time and it is out AGAIN. Wouldn't even give them one star if I didn't have to.

First off they were very rude the whole time. When we ask them to explain exactly what was wrong with the car they were rude. When I got the car back I noticed that 5 seats (holds 7) had been adjusted and by the mileage they had driven it quite a bit. I let it go because I was just glad to have my car back. Drove it 20 miles and it broke down again. The shop had it towed back to them. That was on Thursday at noon.. I got it back on Tuesday the next week. It drove fine on the way home. I had taken a picture of the mileage this time before they towed it back and when I got it home they had put 118 miles on it! Drive home is less than 7 miles. I understand that you have to test drive the car when fixing the transmission, but come on!!! These people had treated us rudely and used my car as their own personal car!!! I'm upset about it but can't do anything about it. Just don't take your car to this transmission shop!

Bought a truck from a local dealer in Pikeville. This dealer had Thackers supposedly do the transmission work just before I purchased the vehicle from the dealer. On my way home from the dealer, the tranny started shifting hard. I called Thackers and the guy who did the work never called me back. I took it to another tranny guy who said the tranny had never been rebuilt!! I saw the other review and was worried, but was hoping for the best. Well the review was something I should have paid attention to. These guys appear to be dishonest and just taking people's money and not doing the work. Beware!! Stay away!!

They dont even deserve that one star .. let see whereto being they fixed my transmission 6 months ago since then it hat once andhass dropped out once .. since they "fixed" it this last time i had to have it towed to them because they forgot to put a nut back on which resulted in my tire coming off and my axl being pulled from my transmission ... it have done some fener damage .. these men where very rude to me told me to shut up ... that they just wanted me to go away and thati didnt know anything ... i would not recommend this place to anyone at all !
