Our daughter has gone to The Young School for the past year (she is almost 3 now) and we could not be more pleased with our experience so far. I feel they really allow the kids to be kids and encourage their natural interests. I feel like some places focus on trying to impress the parents with how much the kids have learned but sometimes do so in an overly structured way that I personally don't think is appropriate for such a young age. The Young School does provide structure but in a very natural way that is flexible and shaped around the children's interests. And it’s fun! They seem to aim to encourage the children's natural excitement for learning rather than just feeding them information to regurgitate. I love seeing my daughter so proud of herself. She is excited to go every day and clearly feels safe and loved there.

My daughter has been at The Young School since she was 3 months old, and we have had a great experience so far. Her teachers are great, and she interacts well. She learns something new every day. It is comforting knowing that she is safe and learning, while my wife and I are away during the day.

This has been one of the best decisions we have made for our son. We have already reserved a spot for our newborn! Within days of starting at Young School he started to become more independent with the things a 2 year old should. He has made a great deal of friends and he always has to give his teachers hugs goodbye. The amount of love and compassion from the teachers is amazing!

All 3 of my children have been to the Young School and we are very happy with the teachers, staff and the Young School community. Children are encouraged to learn and explore, all while having a lot of fun. It's a great place to send your children for daycare or preschool and I highly recommend it!

My son has been with The Young School since he was 8 weeks old and we have had a wonderful experience. He loves all of his teachers and they all know and care for him. It is such a comfort knowing our child is well cared for every day.

The school's rules and philosophy allow my son to learn and grow in a safe environment. The classrooms provide lots of opportunities to develop the children's skills and the teachers have lesson plans to encourage the completion of developmental milestones. Parent/teacher conferences are also offered where the milestones are explained with how your child is demonstrating each skill.

My wife and I are expecting our second child and will absolutely be enrolling him/her at The Young School.

A very great school for toddlers. My little girl loves it and we the parents do too. They cater to every kids interest and don't discriminate. Kids can explore and create their own learning while learning and helping each other at the same time. We have never regretted our decision to enroll her there

Today my son is 21 months. He started attending the Young School at 8 weeks and my husband and I have been very happy with our experiences. One of the things that drew me to the school was the small class sizes (6 kids) all within 3 months of age for infants/toddlers. I like that the same 2 teachers and group of kids stay together for those first 2 years. It has allowed for both my son and us to create bonds with the teachers and other parents and kids during a time when consistency and nurturing are so important. Also like the school’s REI approach which promotes independence. No bouncers or walkers means my son got complete adult attention and at 1.5 he could already drink out of a proper cup (not a sippy) and use a spoon and fork. He’s happy and independent because they provide a safe environment for him to grow in and encourage him to develop his abilities.

Even for infants, the teachers write weekly lesson plans to help them grow new skills and explore and offer parent teacher conferences. As a first time parent I really valued these meetings as the teachers would go through all the appropriate age developmental milestones and we’d discuss how my son was demonstrating them. I quickly got lazy about ready books because the teachers were all so well educated, trained, and experienced, they would educate me through our conversations and encourage me to try new things at home when they knew my son was ready.

The “classrooms” are rich creative environments with lots to explore and changed frequently as the children’s skill develop. The school also has separate crib rooms to help the kids sleep easier away from distractions. Their “school year” curriculum is broken up with a summer camp that includes water play and a relaxed environment.

My son loves all of his teachers, even the ones that only visit for short times to provide breaks. They all know him well and drop off/pick up is often prolonged as my son wants to say hello or goodbye and give hugs to so many of the people who work at the school. I always feel comfortable dropping my son off (he is often eager to get out the door in the morning to see his teachers and friends). The teachers have become his second family and that was something I have always desired for my son while I’m away at work, that he has a safe, nurturing, loving environment to grow up in and I am confident that is what he receives every day.

My daughter is 4yrs old and wa...

My daughter is 4yrs old and was in there part-time program. First of all on the first day, all her stuff was labled with the wrong last name, of coarse I said things multiple times, 5 months later still wrong. I was dropping her off at 9:00 when the "academics" start, when one day after I left I sat in my car watching and my daughter was sitting all alone. I went back in and took her to her "teacher" and they told me she was with another teacher the first hour to get my daughter to try to know her. That teacher made no attempt to meet my daughter or to get her to join activities. So then I started bringing her in a hour late to start with her other teacher. Multiple times I would come in with her crying to be ignored by all teachers noone greetting her or asking to join in, until I put her coat back on to walk out then someone would come over. Not to mention the numerous times they stressed to me she was the only part-time student in that class, and basically if i wanted her to like it better make her full-time. UH she hated the 2 days we were going. Which leads to my next point that she loved it the first month she didn't want to leave, to hating it and crying when she knew it was time to go. Something wrong must of happened. Then they have all wall of pictures of the students my daughter was not up there.(Guess cuz she was parttime?) They gave me no refund even though she didn't go one day this month, and wost of all, when I gave them their written notice they didn't even care to ask why she was being removed. They took my paper and said thank you. Also in the 5 months attended she never came home with anything learned. Overall most horrible experience ever to have for a child in preschool I am now looking into others. Worst waste of money, and had the most germs ever, my child was sick just about every week.
