Dental Examination
We designate a full hour for a new patient. During this time, the Doctor conducts a personal interview, a comprehensive oral exam, takes the necessary radiographs, and creates diagnostic models of the patient's mouth, if necessary. The Doctor and staff provide the patient with an overview of the treatment plan and fees.

It is important to know the quality and training of the dental lab technician fabricating your dental restoration. This is hardly ever discussed by dentists, but is a very critical component of your new smile. Dr. Perkins uses a Certified Dental Technician (CDT), who is a childhood friend, with over 15 years of experience and specific training in aesthetics and occlusion (how the teeth come together). His dental laboratory is located in Mesa, Arizona and all materials are the highest quality and most importantly lead-free. Many dentists in the U.S. have resorted to outsourcing to labs in China, Korea and Mexico to save money without informing their patients of the origin of their restorations. There aren’t any regulatory agencies governing these non-domestic laboratories. These crowns from foreign laboratories may be safe, but how can a dentist be sure when food and toys contain harmful substances?

Dr. Perkins even helped deliver emergency medical care to firefighters battling forest fires in the southwestern U.S. during the summer fire seasons. With plans for a future family, Dr. Perkins shadowed a friend’s father, who is a valley dentist, and his passion for dentistry began. He attended Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, graduating Magna cum Laude, all while working as an emergency room nurse at a major trauma center in Center City Philadelphia as well as meeting and marrying his wife. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Perkins attended a one-year residency (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) at the Audie L. Murphy Veterans Administration Dental Clinic in San Antonio, Texas. By attending the top AEGD in the nation, he learned advanced treatments from specialists in their respective fields, all while delivering care to the men and women that keep this country free. Dr. Perkins absolutely loves dentistry and is totally committed to the highest quality for his patients. He has served as an associate in many private dental offices throughout the valley. Dr. Perkins has anxiously awaited the opportunity to utilize his knowledge and skills to treat his fellow neighbors in the West Valley. Dr. Perkins and his wife are also proud parents of two boys (and future dentists), V.J. and Everett.
