General Practitioners

Primary Care
A. In the state of Arizona, you do not need a prescription to be seen by a physical therapist. Having said that, most insurance companies do still require one. The prescription can come from a primary care physician or a specialist. It should be no more than 30 days old for insurance purposes. We can work with you to get a prescription as well.

MRI
A. We do not receive copies of MRIs and X-rays directly from your physician. It is often helpful to us if you bring a copy of the report from an MRI. The actual films are not necessary. It is not imperative to your treatment that you bring these to your initial visit.

Orthopedics
In 2010, after successfully passing a rigorous written examination, Ian became a board certified clinical specialist in orthopedics (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association. Passing this test demonstrates specialized knowledge, and advanced clinical proficiency in orthopedics. Ian specializes in spine treatment, dry needling, and sport rehabilitation. In his spare time, Ian enjoys the outdoors, sports, and spending time with his family.
Pinched Nerve
Using equipment to help unload your spine, and create a distraction stretch between your vertebrae allows pressure on a pinched nerve to be relieved. We can use this in conjunction with stretching, exercises and hands on treatment your therapist feels will benefit you. Though this procedure is not indicated for everyone, it is often a helpful asset in spine care.

Working with Marissa I have come to realize my hip replacement is strong and sturdy. I've learned not to favor or continuously lean to one side when walking. In addition to my exercises there is always a positive vibe in the room. There is laughter and a spirit that keeps everyone motivated.

A graduate from the University of Nebraska, College of Medicine, Division of Physical Therapy, Bob has spent the majority of his career in the area of orthopedic and sports medicine. He has worked with athletes from the levels of Little League to the professionals especially the NBA. Bob spent three years as a medical officer in the United States Air Force until resigning his commission as a Captain. During that time he was stationed at the largest hospital in the Department of Defense for the Air Force and worked with active duty personnel from around the globe.

Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic therapy promotes joint mobility, blood flow and muscle relaxation. Water offers buoyancy and resistance which creates and environment that decreases stress on joints and healing structures. Our pool ranges from 4-6 feet deep and stays a nice 90-92 degrees. We also have a mechanical lift to offer assistance in and out of the pool. Our therapist will also assist you in the pool if necessary.
Manual Therapy
Manual Therapy is an all encompassing term that relates to treatments that are performed through the skilled hands of a physical therapist. This can include joint mobilizations or manipulation of the spine or extremities, soft tissue mobilization and massage, stretching, or various other forms of hands on treatment. Research continues to show patients benefit, and even respond to treatment better when manual therapy techniques are integrated into therapy.
