        The Hampton Inn Glendale-Peoria hotel is 20 minutes northwest of downtown Phoenix in Peoria, Arizona next to the Peoria Sports Complex. Conveniently located off the 101 Expressway and West Bell Road, we are across the street from the Arrowhead Shopping Mall. Area attractions include golf courses, Peoria Sports Complex, Water World Water Park, Victory Lanes Sports Complex, Lake Pleasant, Challenger Learning and Space Center, Sundome and the Glendale Arena home of the Phoenix Coyotes. The NFL Arizona Cardinals Stadium is under construction 6 miles to the south. Within a 1 mile radius of our Glendale - Peoria Hampton Inn are over 50 restaurants including PF Changs, Buca di Bepo, the Fox and Hound, Palo Verde Pizza, Texas Roadhouse, Krispy Kreme, In and Out Burger, the Cheesecake Factory and Firebirds Grill.         Overall

        I usually don't write reviews, but I feel I must in this case. When I pay over $100 for a room I expect it to be in good shape. I was visiting from out of town for a wedding. This hotel was close to where the reception was being held; staying at Hampton Inns before I believed it would be a good choice.



        The problems: The carpet leading into the bathroom was completely frayed and worn out for at least 18 inches, with torn threads and cement showing.; There was a black grease stain on the arm of the coach; One of the pillows smelled like smoke (not the pillow case, but the pillow); as I have COPD I removed it from the bed quickly; Last, when I went to put my socks on (I had been walking on the carpet barefooted after my shower) and my feet were all dirty (dirty carpet). At $100 a night for a room I expect it to be clean and not smell.



        On the plus side the bed was very comfortable.



        I did not try any of the other amenities --the pool or the breakfast. I just wanted to get out of there.
