Orinda Intermediate School, located in Orinda, Calif., is one of the premier public schools in Contra Costa County. Governed by the Orinda Union Elementary School District, it offers classes from six through grade eight and enrolls more than 900 students. The school s curriculum comprises mathematics, science, social studies, technology, special education, health and physical education, and art and music. Its curriculum and textbooks follow state standards and district guidelines. Orinda Intermediate School has various associations and clubs, such as parent-teacher association, student council, literary and art clubs. It also provides a wide range of services and programs, including outstation trips, health, food and transport service, baseball, cheerleading, basketball, soccer, chess, volleyball, and softball. Orinda Intermediate School has a state-of-the-art computer laboratory, library, transportation department, cafeteria, media center and playgrounds.
