Dental Depot. N Penn in OKC. This was my child's 2nd visit. Complete disaster, unlike the first! The dental assistant, Kira, was so rough while cleaning my child's teeth. She did not explain what she was going to do before doing it (like she claimed she would do), had my daughter gagging on the cleaner, and when I told her this visit wasn't going as well as the first visit, she shrugged it off and said, "she's fine." Then the dr came in with an extremely arrogant attitude. He looked around at her teeth then started talking about drilling in the future, because they may start to crumble; which only caused my already upset child to become more emotional. These people obviously don't know how to interact with children. They lack compassion and professionalism. My daughter will never set foot in another one of their facilities. The dr also made a snarky remark about my daughter being on Soonercare and essentially said she wouldn't get the best treatment because its not a private plan.

Overall

I went to Dental Depot (Penn Station) over Labor Day weekend when my fake tooth popped out (note to self: do not eat caramel lollipops). They were the only dental office I could find that was open on a weekend holiday. They got me in immediately and fixed my personal emergency of looking like a hillbilly. I had such a great experience, that I decided to book my 6 month check up with them as I was new to the area and hadn't found 'my dentist' yet.

This past January marked that 6 month check up and it became the worst dental experience I ever had. I saw a different dentist (Dr. Nisha Gray) this time as she is the 'regular' dentist on staff at that location. Since it was a Saturday, it was very busy (to be expected). The hygienist took me back and took my x-rays, but she had no idea how to work the office xray machine and needed to find someone to help her (red flag #1). Once she figured out the xray machine, she sat me in the patient chair and told me she didn't have enough time to floss my teeth properly, so she showed me how I "should" floss teeth correctly in a mirror, then proceeded to quickly floss my teeth the 'fast' way. She was a very nice person, but was so caught up in talking, that she forgot to polish half my mouth (red flag #2)!

Dr. Nisha Gray took a look at my xrays and told me I needed a crown and 3 fillings (I brush my teeth at least 2x/day and go to the dentist every 6 months, so I was not expecting to get this much work done). She had the hygienist numb my mouth before the procedure. As Dr. Gray approached my mouth with the drill I told her it didn't feel numb enough, she assured me it was, but I demanded that she double check before drilling into my teeth. Good thing I did as they determined the hygienist forgot to dumb the roof part of my mouth (red flag #3).

Once I was properly numbed up, I was in the chair for almost 4 hours getting my procedures done. I was numb when I left the office, they said if anything felt off (like the crown) to come back so they could fix it. Once the numbing wore off a few hours later, the crown was definitely off and the other 3 fillings felt shallow to me. Based off the experience, I went back to Dental Depot the following Monday, and demanded that I see another dentist as i'd like a second opinion on what was going on with my mouth.

The second opinion was the best thing I could have done. The other dentist Dr. Josh, informed me that fillings were never put into my teeth! He had to re-do the entire procedure that Dr. Gray had done 2 days earlier! (red flag # 4). Fillings are Dentistry 101, and Dr. Nisha Gray forgot to put fillings in my teeth!

After battling with the office managers and owner of the OKC Dental Depots for months, they finally reimbursed me for the lack-of-fillings. This didn't make up a 3rd of my overall bill, or how swollen my mouth was for over a week with the hack job that was done, but was better than nothing.

If this review stops anyone from going to Dental Depot, I'll be happy. Please get a recommendation from friends/family/co-workers and DO NOT go to Dental Depot. Go to an experienced Dr. at an established business so you don't leave without fillings in your teeth!

Loved it

I went in today and had my wisdom teeth remove. Everyone was friendly and talked to me while I was waiting for the numbness to kick in. The doctor went a head and checked my other teeth and gave me gas even though my insurance would not cover it since they seen how nervous I was and the pain I may be in. I felt so good to be in a place that was inviting like I had been in a million times. Very clean with a great theme to the place. A lil train runs on a track in all the rooms. It was cool to watch and children must love it. They mad sure there was no pain involved and as soon as I felt a little something besides presser they took care of it. Best dentist I have ever been too. Best part is that the place excepts soonercare and treats you no less than a paying Patient. Noel
