Mamasita's Mexican Grill

Food/building good/clean. Tables in back need to be spaced for more privacy. I was seated next to what turned out to be an extremely rude, ignorant black woman who insisted on coughing on my food after it arrived. She ( turned out) deliberately did so - WHY...i have no idea. Only thing i figure i was 'doing' is just existing in (her) vicinity. Apparently she didn't like my attire which was a nice USFlag comono type top - and as I am white - evidently, a white woman wearing red,white,blue, apparently put her over the top bringing out her nasty side. The customer in question, (deliberately) and openly coughed on me right after my food was brought. I reacted with a wince, to which her table mates saw and & she did it again turning to face me even more - I was willing to let it slide the first time - but im not paying $15.00 a plate to have someone deliberately cough all over it! I turned over my shoulder and said "that was rude" - and from there they jumped on the bandwagon and lit into me. They just wouldn't let it rest. Her party proceeded to relentlessly behave ignorantly by making crude remarks and laughing raucously which of course ruins the nice atmosphere. Due to my particular experience there w/that particular miscreant, my waiter moved me, then totally ignored me, never returning to see if i needed anything. I asked another waiter who kept running back and forth right past my table w/o acknowledging me who my waiter was and she retrieved my original waiter. I asked him why he hadn't returned to my table and he repeated five times that he was 'watching me' - to which five times i told him okay but why didn't you approach me and ASK me if all was well or did i need anything. He just walked away. This negligence in and of itself can equate to extremely bad service! All in all, and insult to injury topped off what otherwise (could) have been a positive first time dining experience. To all this drama i have two questions of the Restaurant: WHY was i made to feel like (I) was the perpetrator - i tried to explain to the Hostess what happened but all she did is give me a 'weak' "im sorry ma'am". I was treated that because the perps were black and more than just one at their table - meaning more money that Mama didn't want to risk for food to just possibly walk out w/o paying. Plus the fact 'they' were most likely 'regulars' and they want that money to return - so it was easier ignore the white lady who's alone than to risk 4 angry blacks ! since i was alone, with no one accompanying me - its easier to go where the money is and didn't care if i returned or not.

I hardly knew the table was there until the nasty lady decided to make a dramatized cough onto my food after it was brought to me! The placement of tables are angled and so close together with a very short (reach) between tables - where if someone chooses to be ignorant it can affect most everyone around. As happened to me. Apparently some customer 'types' feel Mamacita's being in their low end neighborhood means it belongs to ppl of color and whites just shouldn't be there! I would assume by her behavior that she and her table were regulars. This customer was clearly filled with hate for white skin & American flags. Her 'edge of town attitude' bad manners apparently were a 'freebie' thrown into the already pricey plates & ignorant service i received.

Tables need arranging different to afford privacy & would definitely discourage bad behavior of ANY kind. Take out even one table - and it would help! The particular seating arrangement is awkward and seems the restaurant is trying to squeeze as many in as is possible. There is very little privacy.

DEFINITELY NOT worth the fear of watching over my shoulder to make sure my food doesn't get contaminated! Pricey & food isn't (that) authentic to take another chance running into those vagrants. and that ignorant waiter!

The food is great, I would have ranked it higher if they still had that Trio that played their. The music was great, but for some reason, those fellas don't play there anymore...They made the dining more pleasureable!

The Atmosphere Was Nice...The food Was Very Excellent.. it was served hot an fresh an the taste was out of this world if you want a mexico taste than this is where you need to go.The service Was way More than expected The restrooms were in excellent shape an smelled clean..
