The Broward Sheriff's Office, located in Florida, is a full-service public safety agency. It has a department of fire rescue that provides fire suppression and emergency medical services. In addition, its responsibilities include arson investigation, fire safety inspections, fire code enforcement and public education. The sheriff s office operates a range of units, such as aviation unit, bicycle patrol, bomb squad, mounted patrol, crime stoppers unit and regional investigations division. The bomb squad s responsibilities include responding to various suspected explosive devices and suspicious items, neutralizing and disposing of explosives and hazardous chemicals, and conducting detailed bomb threat searches. The regional investigations division of the Broward Sheriff's Office investigates crimes, including homicides, robberies, sexual offenses and frauds. Additionally, the division focuses on crime reduction and prevention and empowerment of victims.
