Teeth Cleaning
It is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months, especially during your orthodontic treatment, for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure that you are receiving the best care possible.

Oral Surgery
Every orthodontist starts out in dental school. Upon completion of dental school, some graduates immediately go into practice as dentists. Others choose to pursue a specialty, which requires additional schooling during a two- to three-year residency program. There are nine specialties sanctioned by the American Dental Association. Some you are likely familiar with: Pediatric Dentistry (dentistry for children), Periodontics (dentistry focusing on the gums), and Oral Surgery.
Jaw Surgery
Your orthodontist can tell you if orthognathic surgery is needed as part of your treatment. Depending on the severity of your case and the alignment of your jaw, you may or may not need surgery.
Maxillofacial Surgery
Surgical orthodontics, also known as orthognathic surgery, is a type of orthodontic treatment used to correct severe cases that include bad bites, jawbone abnormalities, and malocclusion. Oral and maxillofacial surgery is one of the nine dental specialties, and it focuses on treating complex craniofacial cases that involve the mouth, jaw, face, and skull. Your orthodontist will work with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to ensure that if you need surgical orthodontics you receive the best care possible.

Dr. Campoli earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University. She furthered her education at Temple University earning her Doctorate in Dental Medicine, Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics and her Master of Science after a combined six years of study. She graduated with the highest honors and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Campoli is a Board Certified Orthodontist and is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association and the Anne Arundel County Dental Society.
Invisalign Orthodontics
Invisalign may qualify as orthodontic treatment. Talk to your insurance provider to determine the extent of coverage for your treatment. Many dental-insurance providers cover orthodontic treatment to some extent. If your dental plan is one of them.
