I had similar experience to the woman below. I have know the owner's work for a long time. Great guy. The techs always come on time. My mother is in her 70's and as soon as i said she is an "older woman" he did not ask twice and let us know somebody will be there soon. They did!!

I thought this company was great. I had a problem Saturday night, early Sunday morning the tech came in. Everything went smooth, no issues with extra money requests of such.

I used them to check the system early winter again and again the price was right. The guy who came in was respectful. CLEAN!!!

Bait and Switch tactics and Shady Techs

My a/c died on Saturday night, so first thing Sunday morning I was calling a/c repair shops looking for any that were open. In all cases, I asked two questions, "Are you open on the weekends?" and "How much is your diagnostic fee?" The receptionist told me that they would charge $65 for the diagnostic, and that it would be put towards any repairs that they perform.

The technician arrived, and even before he looked at the system, started to tell me that it would be $95 for the diagnostic. I asked what was the deal with the $65 fee, and his response was, "That's the fee for me just to come out."

Now last time I checked, I asked for an a/c repair tech, not a stripper. What's with this 'fee for coming out' b.s.

After agreeing to pay the $95 for the diagnostic, the technician ended up performing what I call a half-assed diagnostic where he quickly concluded that my a/c compressor was dead and would need to be replaced. After talking with him, I noticed a connection box on the side of the compressor that he never touched and asked if the problem could lie in that box. He had this look of, 'oh sh*t, he caught something.' After opening the box, sure enough, there was a loose wire. The technician started to make up other excuses about why he won't try rewiring the compressor, because other components need to be replaced, when in reality, there was just a capacitor (which costs about $14 on the web) that needed to be replaced.

In the end, I will be requesting my money back for this joke of a diagnostic, and might end up reporting them to the BBB if they refuse to refund my money.

Oh, and the next company that came in, "Season Control Heating and A/C" was much better. They said on the phone that the fee would be $75, and guess what, at the end it was....$75. Amazing!
