Overall

I went into this hospital because I had the same headache for 2 days and my tongue had gone numb on the left side. When the dr came in he asked for a urine sample. I also had a lymphnode on the back of my ear that I told him about. He told me nothing was wrong and I had a UTI. I asked about the numbness of my tongue and the lymphnode and he said it was nothing. Two days later I woke up and my fave was completely twisted. I immediately went to my Dr who diagnosed me with Bells Palsy. The Dr's at Northport Medical Center did NOTHING but send me a $3000 bill WITH insurance. It's sad that u can't get the help u need because of lazy Dr's.

BEWARE Never Go Here!!!!

June 8th 2014 my husband took our daughter to the ER here at Northport DCH and she was seen by physician DAVID HUBBS for a wet cough. He was informed she was 6 weeks premature, 4.5 months old, and sounded like she had croup by her great grandmother who has 3 daughters, 5 grandsons, and 3 great granddaughters. He turned her away because she SMILED at him. Didn't bother to do a chest xray or any kind of test on her. Spent the majority of his time being condescending about her necklace and acting as though she was acting like she was sick. As a mother, I was not having that. We took her to the main Tuscaloosa DCH the very next day and she had pneumonia. So if you want your children to survive and live out their life, do not go here.

my mother is a patient (as I type this) at Northport Medical Center in Northport, Al.

This hospital needs a lesson in etiquette and classes on 'TREATING PATIENTS". The staff is a laugh as far as taking care of the patients needs and ailments. I can hear two other rooms with patients screaming for help and to top this off, there is only about 30 rooms in the two wings on the 2nd. floor. There has to be at least 5 nurses (maybe more) with LPN's and PNA's also, so that leaves about one employed person to about 1 to 2 patients. That is not having too much to do. Still the employees are not on a level 3 out of 5 score, in my opinion. My mother has sat in her own feces with her light on for help. I have come onto the floor, into her room and cleaned her up, gotten her bed re-made, cleaned up the floor and her room. Then gone down the 20 feet to the nurses station to ask who her nurse was, with five nurses sitting around chatting. I let her nurse know that her light was on for at least 20minutes and that I had to clean her and her room up. Now she is getting ignored because they are mad at me for yelling about it. I have still to talk with the "social worker" for my mother and the doctor for this floor. I would not have had a problem if my mother was not in here (the re-hab) part of the hospital, at 85 years old, with a broken hip and having to go from here to the cancer center in Tuscaloosa, AL, back then to re-hab for three hours for her hip. At 85 she deserves the care and respect that they would want for their mothers and grandmothers. One star was the lowest I could give them or it would have been ZERO.

Northport Medical Center

Absolutely the best place to have a baby. The doctors are extremely proficient and the equipment is very modern. The rooms are private and you have everything from a tv to a refridgerator. Highly recommended.
