Dennis Gattoni, owner and founder of IAPT, has over 17 years of experience in sports medicine physical therapy. Dennis earned his Physical Therapy degree from New York University in 1994. He spent the next five years working closely with experienced manual therapists trained in craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, strain counter-strain, and muscle energy. This is where Dennis developed his skill in manual therapy and became proficient in evaluating and treating patients with chronic neck and back pain, pelvic obliquities, sacroiliac joint dysfunctions, and myofascial disorders. Dennis spent the next five years of his career working for the Columbia Department of Orthopaedics serving as a senior physical therapist and clinical coordinator of education. Dennis had the unique opportunity of working with some of the leading shoulder and knee surgeons in Manhattan. Dennis gained valuable experience in treating a wide variety of post surgical cases, including rotator cuff repairs, SLAP repairs, capsular shifts, ACL reconstructions, and meniscectomies. Dennis has spent the last five years of his career managing and operating his private physical therapy practice. His experience enables him to proficiently diagnose and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders. He also specializes in casting custom foot orthotics, and through gait analysis he is able to accurately assess biomechanical abnormalities of the lower extremities. Dennis's goal with every case is to treat the source of a patient's problems, and not just the symptoms.
