As one of three leading companies in the industry, Firmenich discovers and creates perfumes, flavors and aroma chemicals. Manufacturers then incorporate them into their brands of perfume, cosmetics, household products and food and beverage items. Founded in 1895 in Geneva, Switzerland, Firmenich is the largest private company in its industry. It has nearly 5,000 employees and 50 worldwide operations. It has 22 production and manufacturing sites throughout the world. The company has sales, development or manufacturing sites in seven United States locations, including its fine fragrance center in New York.
