Downtown Veterinary Clinic and House Calls- Sensing the growing need for a high standard of care for the pets located in Downtown Manhattan, Dr. Janet Ficarra, D.V.M. established the Downtown Veterinary Clinic in 1995. Dr. Ficarra has also provided house call service to pets throughout Lower Manhattan since 1986. About Dr. Ficarra- Dr. Ficarra has been a member of the Veterinary Medical Association of NYC and the NYS Veterinary Medical Association since 1984; she also belongs to the Association of Feline Practitioners. In addition to her NY State license, she holds licenses from California and Washington State. With 22 years in the Greater New York area and owning her own facility, Dr. Ficarra has gained an in-depth understanding of the city, pet and human-animal bonds, and the need for compassionate treatment of all pets. Do You Need A House Call? People who are unable to get to our office, or whose pets are difficult to transport may benefit from having the yearly examination and vaccinations done at home or in their place of business. Elderly persons who cannot physically transport their pets in may also benefit from at-home exam and diagnostics. We accept a wide variety of payment forms, including Care Credit.
