From the incorporation of a dress code for the Valley ( Sashes and Hats ), trips to other valleys, hosting other valleys, member retention, to changing the "business as usual mentality" of doing things, the Valley of New York City is doing its part to push Scottish Rite to the Pinnacle of Masonic Higher learning. Known to many as the college of Freemasonry, Scottish Rite gives us more than just the unveiling of universal Truths, it allows us to share Brotherly Love and experience the ultimate Fraternal feeling that is lacking in today's organizations. As you browse this site notice the closeness and love that is displayed in all our events. From our annual Family Life Program, Dramas, and Scottish Rite Charities ( Leon M. Abbot Scholarships, Schizophrenia Research, National Heritage Museum, and the 32 Masonic Learning Center for Children which help children with Dyslexia ), once you catch the Scottish Rite experience you will truly understand the meaning of Brotherhood and Charity.
