Signed up to write a review specifically for this shop. Unless you know the people on a personal level do not go there! took my car to get smogged two years ago, it took at least a full month to get it back, the price was outrages, and somehow my car isnt working how it should be to pass smog currently (idles high or low at any given point and gives out excessive fumes)when its only been a year and a half later, keep in mind that i do keep my car in good condition, always have tuneups every 3 months because i travel a lot. Current mechanic said they did changes that weren't necessary and put in parts that wouldn't last long or work well with my car since it is a much older car. This year relunctantly i took it there again, I asked about the cap program because i knew my car wouldnt pass, owner asked me a few questions and concluded that because im not employed and am a student i will not recieve assistance from the cap program. That I shouldn't even fill out an application. I found that odd since the whole reason its there is to help a person pass their car for smog so i called the number ,after I dropped off my car and was confused about the program, and they assured me that what the paisanos shop owner stated was not true i would qualify even if i didnt have an income and am a dependat which I also let the owner know. Now I'm not saying they were trying to rip me off (even though I personally believe they were because I'm a girl and girls are more gullible with mechanical stuff, but! woman are more keen on sensing a persons character and he doesn't seem genuine at heart) of my money but if there a smog shop especially a gold shield one they should be up to date on the programs they offer.. Well the same day i dropped it off they were taking hours to do a smog which i thought was strange but figured maybe they had a lot of people? But Like a sign from above! Their smog machine was not working, and they were not sure when a mechanic would be available. That was my cue I questioned this shops genuiness and I picked up my car and took it elsewhere. I knew a person who took there car there also, they had done a mistake on there renewal for tags so when this guy went to the DMV he had to be charged twice because paisanos didn't write the car model and make correct. This guy had the receipt and the paper filled out by paisanos took it to them to get money back for the mistake they made, but they refused to pay it to him. The owner seems nice at 1st but once he has your keys, you start asking questions his character changes! Hes rude, talks over you, is degrading, and pushy. I don't know how this place has stayed open with the things I hear about them, but I would not be surprised if it went out of business by the treatment of their customers. take at your own risk but question, look over, and study or know the prices for your car parts if you do decide to go there.

SHYSTER/MONEY PIT

At first he's very friendly but as soon as you hand your keys over to him he owns you. He doesnt inform you about progress with the car, he says " I'll call you when its ready" in an annoying sarcastic manner. doesnt like that you call in on the promised date and ask "is it ready yet"? to the avid "do it yourselfer" he scolds them for attempting to try simple repairs. I mean lets be honest not all of us are mechanics but there are some of us who are a little mechanically inclined and can do SOME minor repairs but hey we do make mistakes and when that happens you take it to the proffessional but there is no need for that said proffesional to throw all his certificates and diplomas in someones face for trying to fix something their self whether it have been out of neccesity or just hobby. totally insensitive to people who only have one car for transportation. I've had three experiences with this facility and the first one was what i expected from a hispanic owned repair shop. The second was a $900 brake job i was promised quality parts and given trash my brake pads were worn out within three months and i lived in ceres at the time and worked three blocks from the facility (Paisanos Auto Repair) so i wasnt a long distance commuter and i didnt travel anywhere far with my truck. The third and final was when he disrespected my Father, he took his car in for a Test only smog it failed Javier (owner) told my father about the state aid for smog. My father applied and was granted the five hundred in aid after that our experience went from BAD to WORST. My father is an avid do it yourselfer but when he cant figure it out he takes it to a proffesional like most people, Javier promised him the car within three days from 3/15/10 he did not call on the third day to tell us it wasnt going to be ready for another few days my father had to call in himself and find out the information and keep calling and asking "hows it going; whats the problem" all he said was "it has high emmissions and by the way i had to change the computer but that no big deal; and i'll call you when it's ready you don't have to keep calling me" i mean WTF is that! not even calling up to tell my father i have to change this or this is what SEEMS to be the problem and telling my father to stop calling........ the car wasnt delivered til 3/26/10 and after a lengthy speech about how all auto repairs no matter how small were to be left to proffesionals, so he basically called my dad a dumb@**. He went over the States aid in $500 he charged him a total of $625.79 because of the lengthy diagnostic processs and the F ing problem was a sensor that was plugged in backwards.

SO LONG STORY SHORT HES AN OVERPRICED WEEKEND MECHANIC
