General Info: Located in Modesto, Calif., Modesto City Schools was established in 1871 by the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors. The school district serves the educational needs of more than 34,000 students and offers classes from grades kindergarten through 12. It offers a variety of educational, enrichment and extracurricular programs to its students. Modesto City Schools comprises elementary, junior high and high schools. Its curriculum includes English, language art, social studies, science and technology, health education, mathematics, computer science, fine arts, music, and physical education. The district offers various sport programs, such as softball, football, cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, baseball and athletics. Modesto City Schools offers a variety of child development program to more than 1,800 students ages 2 months through 12 years. Its college and scholarship guide provides students and parents with recent college and scholarship information.
