Professionalism

This school administration and owners lack professionalism when it comes to disputes. My child attended this school and was dismissed due to a teachers feelings being hurt because of another students actions my child just happen to be friends with. Numerous times during the initial meeting she was told its not because of your behavior you are a great student. Then one of the teachers made a comment stating "Do you think we really wanted to put them out of the school? That's $60,000 we just lost!" I was speechless that she could say something like that. If I would have known that my child could be dismissed improperly and because of being associated with someone else the teacher had an issue with, I would never have sent my child to this school. In return she was sent an $8000 bill stating she needs to pay in full or it will go to collections. My child is 19 yrs of age Really??? I have contacted the owner Judith multiple times as well as her husband over this past 45 days no one has returned my calls, or emails. We went through the appeals process and was told 30 days and have not yet received any information. I have called to the school and even popped in to see what we needed to do to resolve this, no one seems to know anything or can help. She was dismissed from the school improperly a warning was never given or consult and the teacher discussed with other students about it before even talking to the student being dismissed. I would definitely not recommend anyone going to PJ'S school of cosmetology. After reading other reviews I see that their lack of care for the student's financial well being, not resolving issue within the school, students not being able to get their license once graduated is a common practice with this school.

BEWARE a nightmare!

Future students BEWARE if you are planning on enrolling at PJ'S. For the high prices that you will pay, you may
want to think twice!! In this case; MORE is definately LESS. I was not informed of this while in school but
apparently all students must file for their own temporary permits at the license bureau by themselves after
graduation and you may want to keep this in mind otherwise you might end up like me, still waiting...wondering...nearly a
month and half later as to why the board had yet to notify me of when I may take my state exam! I can't speak for
other locations but the Indianapolis school director took approximately 4 weeks to lick a stamp and mail my
application to the state and 5 weeks after my last day of school I was informed by the state via a phone call that
my application needed to be sent back for corrections! Now I must clearly expect to wait another month for it
to return back to the state HOPEFULLY filled out correctly for approval. And if you plan on making a formal
complaint to the PJ'S main headquarters you can fully expect a lack of concern and disorganization as well. You
may expect at least a 2 day delay on return phone calls and that is if you are persistant. I got the feeling that
no one either cared, with the exception to the receptionist, or they were avoiding my calls. It appears to me that
the complaint department seems to think that this disorganization is validated and may be a common occurance since
I have been treated with a lack of concern and still left to wonder why this all happened to begin with! If you are
planning on hitting the ground running and stepping out of school straight into your career in the beauty industry
then PJ'S will not be the right school for you. Their supposed high standards are low considering the high cost
they charge and the lack of even a petty attempt to absolve my problem and satify me after all the trouble and
lost time I have been through is a mockery! Once you walk out the door you are no longer a CONCERN for
them and you may expect PJ's severely lacking the professionalism of CARING about their students future success
after graduation! BE WISE, LOOK ELSEWHERE!!

After being a client at pjs and receiving such excellent care I enrolled as a full time student at pjs crestwood campus and have enjoyed every minute of it. I look forward to coming to class everyday. Pjs offers a wonderful environment for education and gives me every opportunity to be successful. I highly recommend pjs to anyone interested in cosmetology.

PJS has the most awesome educators who truly care about their students education. You receive a lot of individual attention. The students are very professional and do great work. It is a fantastic place to be a student or client. Best in my book.

I'm currently enrolled at PJ's on Shelbyville Rd. I chose PJ's after being encouraged by the school to sit in freshman class for the day. No other schools I toured offered that. I was impressed by the small class size and the one on one attention given to the students. Enrollment was so easy with all the help from Tracy in admissions. I have no doubt I'll pass state board exams. PJ's makes sure their students are prepared to become a licensed cosmetologist. If you're looking for cosmetology, aesthetics, or a nail program, spend the day at PJ's. See for yourself.

I do not normally write reviews but I am going to for Pj's college. I have been coming here for a year now and am extremely happy with my time here. I feel as if Pj's is under the radar because of their location and they don't have the big brand name that everyone pays for. Pj's is very professional and has made me feel like I am part of a family. The girls here are so friendly and so knowledgable and I wouldn't have wanted to go to any other school. The spa services are unbelievable. I love that Pj's has nails, esthetics, and hair. It is a very small school and the students have so much attention from the educators and are so personal with them because the teachersy really get to know the students. When ANYONE walks in the front desk is so enthusiastic to service them. I never want to leave Pj's they have made me feel amazing about myself and have made me feel important. I highly recommend Pj's the education for the students is the best education in louisville ky in my opinion. The new students are in a 15 week program before they even get out to work on clients, longer than most schools and their confidence level is so much higher being in such a long program. They are happy to take anyone at any time they can. Thank you Pj's for my amazing experience.

This school is the best in town. I currently go to PJ's college for cosmetology and love it. I was enrolled in another school in Louisville and felt like I got lost in the crowd. Not at PJ's. The classes are small and you get a lot of one on one with the teachers. I'm so thankful that I found this school. If you want to get a great education then check out PJ's.

dispite the reviews i decided to enroll into this school. on 12/06/14 my fasfa was completed. i was supposed to follow up to sign a contract and give them the information they were requesting. when i spoke with the teacher she told me that she would give me a call once she had the contract well as of 01/05/15 i still heard nothing so i decided to call i even left a voicemail and i never got a response and i thank God i didnt because it made me see for myself how much of a scam this place really is. from now on i will look more into anything before making any hasty decisions. it just sucks because i was really looking forward to starting school and moving that much closer to seeing my dream of becoming a make up artist come true. if anyone knows of any legit schools that im able to go to it would greatly appreciated.

BEWARE

BEWARE!!!!! This school is a complete scam!!!! DO NOT sign a contract with any pjs ! If you do attend school here you will be locked in for good! Students who quit are immediately charged most if not all the tuition up front because they send back your student loans. Making payments to these people are not an option!!! They do this cause they know most people cant just fork out thousands of dollars and it gives them an excuse to send you to collections to make a quick buck. EVERY student that has withdrawn has been hit with this scam, and I know of some students who have had to fike for bankruptcy because of this school. They target young girls (mainly 18 year olds fresh out of high school) That They know they can manipulate! ! When signing the contract they make it seem like if you quit, you will just be paying back your student loan. Not the case! Be warned, this school is extremely sketchy and the corporate office is extremely rude . I was threatened to be sent to collections before I even withdrawn. Oh, and of my 7 months of attending pjs, only ONE person graduated without oweing overages or having all progresses needed. The rest of the graduates will never be able to get thier license unless they pay pjs yet again to obtain progresses. Be careful!!!!
