About the course
Opened in 1930 and designed by C.H. Muelenford and Sam Sneed, Big Run turns 84 this year. Hundreds of tall oak trees throughout the course (some oaks are centuries old), complimented by five lakes and Long Run Creek, will test your shot making abilities. 8 of 18 holes bring water into play. The course is heavily bunkered. Big Run Golf Club can be difficult but enjoyable, challenging and sporty. The course has never stood on it's laurels, it has been reshaped over the years to compliment both the improvements in today's golfers and to take advantage of this scenic piece of land golfers have come to enjoy.

Founded in 1930, Big Run Golf Club is a recreational facility that offers a range of social and athletic services. Its amenities include a lounge, snack bar and locker rooms. The club has event and banquet space that can accommodate up to 170 guests for bridal showers, reception parties, rehearsal dinners, corporate meetings and business seminars. Big Run Golf Club also provides private and group golf lessons and instructional programs. It features a pro shop that sells a collection of apparel, accessories and equipment from several brands. In addition, the club organizes golf outings and tournaments. Big Run Golf Club is located in Lockport, Ill.
