Book Nook

Very good selection of food, toys and accessories for dogs and cats. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful.

This is a fun little hole-in-the-wall shop at which I've found plenty of hidden gems in books, comics, and music alike. It's also a great place to offload books from my shelves that I don't want/need anymore.



I only wish that they got new inventory in more often - but for a used book store this size, the fact that they're still here after so many years is impressive enough on its own.

Greed ultimately takes the fate of many a good business and it seems to have finally infected the Book nook, a place I loved for many a year for it's reasonable prices until recently.



I questioned the cost of a paper bound engineering book that was about 3/4" of an inch thick priced at $50.00, compared to some 5" hard bounds that were $40.00, Only to find this book "brand new" over the web for only $16.96. and this wasn't the only thing that was over-priced. Everything had changed, what used to be a very reasonably priced place has now become a price-gouging entity.



With places like McKays and other competitors that are still very reasonable, you don't have to shop there. Fortunately there are many alternatives. Unfortunately a place I used to drive all the way to Atlanta for, is gone, and transformed into large money hungry corporation that no longer panders to the readers, but to the people who want to profit from it. It's a shame they could not be happy with making a normal profit and keeping customers happy, but all good things ultimately come to an end and so have the decent days of the Book Nook.



So Sad.
