I wish I could review how well this place does when doing mechanical work, but I can't. The reason is that despite knowing the year and make of my truck, they said they don't work on anything that old. I can tell you that their customer service is bad at best.



It took me a while to get around to writing this review and will now start at the beginning. I called on Thursday 11-21-2014 to schedule a simple inspection of my 1993 Toyota pickup truck. I told them the year and make and they scheduled for the following Tuesday 11-25-2014 (Two days before Thanksgiving) I dropped off the truck the night before with all information needed for a simple inspection.



I waited the next day for a call to see if it might need something small. I expected that it might not need anything since it only had 150 miles on since the last inspection. In the year before this attempt to have a little sticker put on my windshield, I had put $1,300 into body work. This truck has 0 rust, newer tires, a clean engine & only 100,000 miles.



Around 2:30 in the afternoon I received a call. Thinking that my truck must not have needed anything, since I did not get a call earlier in the day. I picked up and was told the following



" I can't do anything with that it's too old and will need to much work".



This truck sat in their lot all day before they bothered to call and tell me they were going to do zero, zip and not even look at my truck. If you don't work on older cars/trucks, why not tell people that when they schedule their appointment? How about calling someone a little quicker than 5.5 hours after they say they open.



It was safe to say that I could not think of a reason why an auto mechanic would look at a truck with NO rust and is very clean and say they won't even look at it. They could have taken 2 minutes and realized that the truck needed nothing. I figured they didn't want the business and I'll just find another place.



It did not dawn on me that maybe they would be closed on Wednesday the 26th till December 1st for the holiday weekend. I only know they were off because I drive by the place every day for work. My best guess is that they wanted to start their mini vacation early and just didn't feel like doing their job.



I say good luck to you if you take your car/truck for anything simple and it just happens to be on a Friday. They might just call you and say they can't work on your automobile. It might be worse than that, they might miss something important that causes more problems down the road. All this because they wanted to start their Vacation, Holiday or Weekend a little early.



I'll end with the following. They take appointments they don't honor. They call and give a poor reason for not doing the work they scheduled. They waste peoples time and are not interested in making money. After it was all said and done, I took my truck to another place that is very close by. The truck needed nothing as I expected and I'm now very glad they did not do the work. I have found a good honest mechanic that likes new business.



I like to do very solid reviews that people know took some time to write up. I want people to know that it's an honest review. Just so people know how transparent I want this to be, I'll include my Full name, place of employment and where I live. Would I be willing to put this out there if the above statement were not true. You be the judge....

CONSUMER BEWARE!!



MY HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE AT CITYSIDE AUTO!!



I WAS TOLD TO DROP OFF MY CAR ON MONDAY FOR INSPECTION. DROPPED IT OFF AND NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM. I CALL THEM DAY 3-- WEDNESDAY TO FIND OUT WHAT THEIR MALFUNCTION IS FOR A SIMPLE INSPECTION AND I'M TOLD THE MECHANIC WAS SICK AND THEY ARE SORRY. I'M INFORMED IT PASSED INSPECTION BUT NOT EMISSIONS DUE TO MONITORS NEEDING TO BE RESET. HE CAN DO IT FOR A FEE OF $55 AND IT WILL PASS EMISSIONS THEN. AGAIN NO CALL FOR THE REST OF THE DAY.

DAY 4-- THURSDAY, ALMOST A WEEK, I GET A VOICEMAIL SIMPLY SAYING MY CAR IS READY AND PASSED.



INSPECTIONS/EMISSIONS PLUS $55 FEE FOR MONITOR RESET. I'M EXPECTING BALLPARK $120 BILL. I WALK INTO HIS SHOP DAY 4 THURSDAY BLINDSIDED BY A NEAR $600 BILL. SPARK PLUGS, COIL PACK, SPARK PLUG WIRES, HOOKUP AND SCANNER FEE'S EXCEEDING THE $55 FEE I WAS TOLD.... DON'T FORGET LABOR........



ALL OF WHICH I WAS NEVER CALLED ABOUT. NEVER GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO SAY NO. I COULD HAVE REPLACED THOSE PARTS FOR MUCH CHEAPER.



I AM TREATED RUDELY AND TOLD THAT THEY MAKE MISTAKES BUT I WOULD HAVE NEEDED THE STUFF ANYWAY. I ALSO GET A BUNCH OF B.S. EXCUSES LIKE THE MECHANIC WAS SICK MONDAY AND I, THE OWNER, WAS AWAY TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.

HE WAS CONDESCENDING, ARROGANT, AND DOWNRIGHT RUDE TO ME.

I'M THE PAYING CUSTOMER WHO JUST WAS BLINDSIDED BY A BILL THEY NEVER INFORMED ME ABOUT. I HOPE IT WAS WORTH RIPPING ME OFF BECAUSE THEY WILL NEVER SEE ANOTHER DOLLAR FROM MY POCKET.



I DON'T EVER WRITE REVIEWS GOOD OR BAD BUT I WAS SO MISTREATED AND WANTED TO WARN POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS ABOUT THEIR BAD BUSINESS HABITS. THEY NEED TO CHANGE THEIR ARROGANT BIG-HEADED ATTITUDES.
