Tammy's Dance Co

My daughter's been dancing at Tammy's for the past 3 seasons. The teachers have been nothing but kind, patient and instructive. They work well with the students and are extremely patient with first time competitive team dance moms who are overwhelmed and unsure of how things should happen and when. My daughter loves going to dance, she loves to practice at home and she loves everyone at Tammy's. The older dancers always make sure to give praise to the younger girls, knowing the little ones look up to them. What Tammy and her family do, taking 20 little ones and teaching them a long complex routine and getting them performance ready in a matter of a few months with only a few classes a week is amazing to me! I watched as Crystal taught the little ones their routine, first the middle, then the end, then the beginning and wondered how they'd ever remember all the steps, much less get it put in order. But they did and they looked so adorable! As long as my daughter continues to love to dance and is accepted back we will use Tammy's Dance!

First of all I give this business 1 star only because 0 stars is not a choice. Anyway, I do not a child in Tammy’s Dance Company but I do have a niece who attended that studio for many years. She was on their completion team and yes she learned many things at that studio but it was all through fear, intimidation and punishment of having a dance solo or trio taken away. I saw how they tore her down to the core and destroyed her self-confidence yet she still wanted to obtain their approval and she wanted to prove she could do better but they never recognized it. They, the owners and instructors, were too busy bullying and gossiping about parents or students all the time. I attended several completions, recitals and practices at the studio and I saw firsthand how unprofessional they were. I witnessed instructors talking about such and such student didn’t dance well enough and pointed every little detail they did wrong. Now I’m all for constructive criticism but to the students’ face, not in front of strangers sitting in the waiting room. Another thing, they are not creative at all! Although their routines were very entertaining and won trophies much of the dances were taken from YouTube all instructors did was add some of their choreography here and there in between what they put together from the moves they got off of the internet.
Yes Tammy’s studio has been in business for many, many years and maybe in the beginning they were in it for the right reasons but as for now it’s all about favoritism, bullying, gossiping and greed. I’m glad to report that my niece is in a different dance studio and has been there for several months now but in these short months I have seen her self esteem sky rocketed and has grown and flourished as a person and a dancer. I only wish that all the turmoil that was endured could have been avoided. If you are looking for a dance studio, my suggestion is to keep looking so your child can become the dancer they are meant to be.
