Glaucoma
Glaucoma is damage to your optic nerve usually due to elevated pressure in the eye. Surgeries to address this may include trabeculectomy, aqueous shunt implantation, laser trabeculoplasty or laser peripheral iridotomy.

Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy – Diabetes causes serious damage to blood vessels and often leads to blood vessels rupturing in the retina. When the retina begins to lose enough blood that it can’t stay healthy, your body will try to grow new blood vessels on the retina to replace the ruptured vessels. This is known as proliferative diabetic retinopathy and is likely to result in impaired vision or vision loss.

Reconstructive Surgery
When there are problems with the eyelids, tear ducts, and the eye socket, or orbit, reconstructive surgery may be necessary to restore proper function and vision. Dr. Anzeljc, our specialized oculoplastic surgeon, is extensively trained in surgical procedures to address anything around, but not within, the eye in these cases.
