        The Kings Mountain Police Department is a law enforcement agency that employs a staff of more than 40 full- and part-time sworn and nonsworn officers, civilians and community volunteers. It maintains a patrol squad and criminal investigations and records divisions. The police department also supports various specialized units, including traffic enforcement, community-oriented policing and lake patrol. The Kings Mountain Police Department has a team of school resource officers and crossing guards, as well as organizes the Drug Abuse and Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. Located in Kings Mountain, N.C., it operates a communication center that responds to emergency and nonemergency calls for services.
