Here at AA Windward Dental Group, we treat members of the entire family, starting as early as two years old. We recommend our patients to have a dental check up every 6 months in order to keep up with their oral health. At your appointment, the doctors address any of your dental concerns, examine your teeth for cavities, check the integrity of your existing restorations (filling, crowns, bridges, etc), montor your gum health, take annual xrays and complete a dental cleaning. If any dental treatment is recommended, we will inform you of what your options are and answer any questions that you may have. Veneers
Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic or CEREC® for short is a new state-of-the-art method of reconstructing tooth restorations. CEREC® uses computer-assisted design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) to offer single-day restorations for patients. This new technology has revolutionized ceramic restorations such as crowns and veneers for patients so that there is no longer a wait between preparing the restoration and finally receiving the finished product. With CEREC®, the technology is used while you are sitting in the dental chair, which is both economical for you and your dentist. The restorations created are metal-free and tooth colored to restore your tooth to its natural beauty, strength and function. With CEREC®’s CAD-CAM technology, these ceramic restorations can all be done in one single visit to the dentist.
Crowns
Before you get started, your dentist will determine if CEREC® is right for you. Depending on how much healthy tooth structure you have remaining, it may be a simple filling or you may need a crown. After reviewing your options, the dentist will begin the process by administering anesthetic and preparing your tooth for restoration by removing decay and weakened tooth tissue.
Bridges

Root Canal Treatment
Routine check-ups and xrays help us diagnose tooth decay. When bacteria infiltrates through the enamel layer and into the dentin, the cavity only gets larger. When we are able to catch them at their early stages, the tooth can be treated with a filling in order to stop the progression of tooth decay. This prevents the patient from developing an infection, experiencing symptoms of sensitivity/pain, and the tooth from needing additional treatments like crowns, root canal therapy, or extractions. We provide both silver/amalgam and white/composite fillings to our patients.

Dentures
Removable appliances, like partial and complete dentures, are used to replace missing teeth. This offers our patients a cost-effective way to replace multiple teeth and allows them to continue to function when it comes to eating and speaking. Dental Implants
In order to replace missing teeth, dental implants may be an option. Dental implants have a very high success rate and have the greatest longevity when it comes to dental restorations. A consultation with the specialist (usually an oral surgeon or periodontist) is required to make sure there is enough solid/healthy bone. Then a titanium based screw is placed within the bone of the missing tooth/teeth. After a few months of healing, an impression is taken, the crown is fabricated by the lab, and cemented/screwed into place. The Daughter. Hilari Kawakami-Wong spent her childhood growing up in this office with her parents and younger sister. After graduating from Iolani School, she moved to California, where she received her degree in Biomedical Engineering from UC Irvine and her Doctorate in Dental Surgery as well as a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the University of the Pacific in 2011. After working at private practices in Los Angeles, Orange County, and Santa Clara for 6 years, she and her family moved back to Kaneohe in 2017. She is very excited to be working along side her parents.
