Costco

Costco is the only place to buy high-dollar electronics. Why?



The WARRANTY! Costco takes any return for any reason no questions asked. My story in particular goes like this: My brothers and I got together to buy an Xbox 360 in Dec 2007. Anyone who knows Xbox's knows they are prone to electrical problems and failure, and Microsoft tech support is slow, plus you have to mail it in, leaving you without your Xbox for weeks. Well, the first one lasted 9 months before it conked out. We returned it and got a new one right away, no problem. That one lasted 6 months before it began chewing up our valuable disks. We returned that one too, and they gave us some consideration for our damaged games! When we got the new one home and opened it, we realized we were missing a controller - someone had shoplifted it. I called them and they were very understanding. We returned that one the next day, only to find that our FOURTH Xbox had a connectivity problem and wouldnt connect to the internet. So we took that one back too, and the FIFTH one works fine, but ive only had it for 2 weeks. I feel it is important to add that each problem with the Xbox 360's was NOT Costco's fault in any way. Dont misunderstand me by thinking that Costco sells inferior electronics, because that is not the case.



Customer support was great, except for one manager who wouldnt do the return because I was not the Member who bought the Xbox (my dad was). So I had to bring my dad the next day. But the other associates bent over backwards to help me each and every time, even when I felt bad for them having to swap out 5 Xbox's for me. The manager who wouldnt help me was just sticking to the rules i guess.



Bottom Line: Costco is awesome, they stick by their warranties and don't give you any trouble. If I had bought ANYWHERE else, I would: 1) Not have an Xbox right now, and 2) Lost lots of money.
