Overall

I totally agree with everything i just read. I'm in battle with them right now. We bought this mobile home 3 years ago never notice anything wrong until this past week that they came to replace meters come outs that the meter was tampered who knows since when they shut off my electricity call the cops and they told me that i have to pay 4000 dlls for unbilled electricity and 1000 dlls deposit what in the world but they never checked this meters before a new person signs the contract with them. When i review my billing history from day one my bills were consistant not major change on my bills obviously hotter days higher the bill or colder fays higher the bill, but the company is assuming my usage and that's how they came up with this crazy amount. I have little children and they didn't care so now i have to hire a lawyer because they will not connect my power until i sign an agreement to pay that amount. And i will not sign that agreement because those charges are not my resposability.

Overall

This place will NEVER get a good review from me or my friends or family, if I could I would have gone to GEUS a LONG time ago. If your moving to Greenville, or maybe just buying a new house in Greenville and your electric company is FEC... BUY another house! Don't set your self up for the head aches and stupidity that are to follow. I called 3 times today to get the balance on my electricity (its pay as you go) and they wouldn't tell me, so they were just going to leave me blind until I got off work and got home to see if my electricity was still on, but then IF my electricity was OFF and by the time I got home and realized it was off, they would have been closed so I would have gone a whole day with no electricity in this 100 degree weather. This place is a JOKE, full of stupidity and ignorance. I didn't even EVER imagine that there could be a company or people just so ignorant, but I was proven wrong, from now on when I call I will immediately ask for a manager and talk with them.

Overall

I have never dealt with a company so asinine. I just moved into my house, and they held me hostage to either pay a $1000 prepayment OR get my electricity cut off on my wife and 3 little boys. Their reasoning, my credit score was 5% lower than they want. Now, just so you understand, I make over 6 figures. I just bought a $300,000 house and was qualified by the bank despite the extra stringent requirements banks have since the implosion years ago. I spent $15,000 on putting energy upgrades into the house...I have very little debt because I believe in paying cash...but my credit is so bad that they need a prepayment of $1000 for "their protection" to make sure I pay my payments on time, and if I don't, I lose that money. And in the meantime, I won't get my money back for OVER A YEAR.



If you are in an area of Wylie where you have a choice between electric companies (I am not), then choose StarTexPower or anyone else you can. These guys are a ripoff and treat their customers like crap.



[UPDATE 2014-05-20] After over a year of paying our payments, my wife and I switched who was handling the bills, so we ended up 20 days late on our bill. There was no outstanding balance prior to this month...just the current month's past due, and they shut off our electricity. Never in my life have I had such a horrible electric company. A mere 35 days after the invoice is sent, they shut off your power.
