The News-Record is a daily newspaper that provides information to its readers in the Campbell County, Wyo. Gillette, Wyo., is the city in which the newspaper is based. It is the oldest business in Campbell County. It is the only daily newspaper in Wyoming that covers the events and provides information on Campbell County. Its coverage of Campbell County pays special attention to the energy industry due to the county s major role in it. It is loaded with deposits of coal and oil in its soil, and a recent mineral boom occurred when developers found a way to tap into the coal bed methane natural gas found in the soil. The newspaper also provides local news, sports, obituaries, legal notices, classified ads, real estate and upcoming events coverage. The News-Record was founded as the Gillette News in 1904.
