Porcelain Veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length. We recommend this treatment to anyone experiencing discoloration that cannot be fixed with whitening or if your teeth are damaged. Porcelain veneers are also an option if you’re unhappy with the shape or look of your natural teeth.
Crowns
An occlusal equilibration is an adjustment or selective reshaping of the biting surfaces of teeth to allow an even contact of the upper teeth to the lower teeth while allowing proper function of the upper and lower jaw. Decreasing this stress and trauma on teeth (occlusal instability) as early as possible can help in preventing the need or replacement of crowns, bridges, tooth loss and replacement. Diagnostic casts or study models are used to diagnose whether an occlusal equilibration will correct or prevent further damage. On the average, the procedure will take approximately 3 – 5 appointments.
Bridges

Root Canal Treatment
Root canals are needed when decay and bacteria spread for too long without treatment. At a certain point, this decay makes it to the pulp inside the tooth. This pulp includes nerves, therefore infection generally causes a lot of pain. Since this is happening on the inside of the tooth, you won’t necessarily see the damage. Instead, you could feel it through pain and notice other signs that include bleeding, swelling and bad breath.

Dr. Tamie Ego completed her undergraduate studies from CSUF in Fresno, California, before attending dental school at UCLA in Los Angeles, graduating in 1990 with her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. She continues to increase her knowledge of dentistry regularly through continuing education courses, and she has received advanced training in surgical implant placement and equilibration training. Dr. Ego is a graduate of the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study.

Dr. Ego’s father, Shiro Ego, opened his dental practice in 1955 after graduating from UCSF. In 1990, after her own graduation, Dr. Ego immediately began working alongside him in Fresno and had the opportunity to learn from him and his many years of hands-on experience and knowledge prior to his retirement. She has expanded the practice to include implants and bone grafting procedures, as well as utilizing other technologies to give her patients better and more advanced options to fully restore their oral health. Her dynamic team makes coming to work and helping each patient accomplish their smile goals a joy.
