Airport Diner

don't listen to the yahoo from san marcos. Why would you expect italian sausage in a german town? And 5 minutes isnt going to make your food cold.

I've always received great service eating here and the food is exactly what I expect from a diner. Some people receive poor service because they come across as stuck up or snooty. Maybe that's the case with the other reviewer. This has never been the case with me for the dozens of times I've eaten here.

There were four of us for lunch today...12:30 Sunday the 10th of August. We've been to the diner a few times before and I remember we thought the service was not as good as it could of been, but we decided to fly on in and give another try. My husband orders the P-40 warhawk which is a grilled sausage sandwich with a side of onion strips. I order the hamburger with swiss cheese and an order of fries. The kids choose to split a basket of freedom fries. The diner wasn't to busy today, but just enough I guess. We sat in front of the service window just across from the counter so we could see when our food was ready. Our food sat on the service window waiting for the waitress to bring it to us for at least 5-7 minutes so when we did get it, it was cold! I don't recommend ordering anything that is going to not taste good cold. The food looked good as far as presentation and appetizing....Also, they don't use Italian sausage for their sausage sandwich which didn't do much for the flavor in our opinion. He only ate half of it. My burger wasn't the greatest either, besides being cold it tasted like the patty was steamed or boiled or sat in hot water for awhile. The onion strips didn't make a very big impression with us either. I would really like for the diner to make a go of it. I think that the wait staff should take better care in serving the food as soon as it hits the service window. HOT.... I also think that they need wait staff that is a bit older than the s that were there today. I don't think they had working on their minds. All in all, the atmosphere is great, the view is wonderful, the place is clean. A good wait staff is all thats needed. A trained waitress notices when a customer is not eating and ask if everything is ok...when the customer has no comment thats their first clue thats something is not right and wants to make it right. Please guys, get some good help or your not going to make it. Thanks... Cindy from San Marcos
