I've been going to Carlos n pepes for 25 years and the food is absolutely the best! The crab nachos are excellent and always fresh. The pepe burro. (Steqk) is to die for...my only complaint is the service. Sometimes it's OK, but most of the time it's really bad.

I have been eating at Carlos n Pepe's for many years now! I've notice lately that the portions of food have gone down quite a bit! you will get good food and service but you won't get much of it anymore!

Went in 9/11/10 food was terrible....service was worse. As a server/bartender i understand when someone is busy and generally i am a little more patient. This however was not the case. We arrived to a hostess who had no clue what the hell she was doing. We were seated outside no problem but when it takes someone 15minutes to even get a drink order our night was not looking promising, but we have been there plenty over the years and overlooked it. We got out drinks about another 10mins later after receiving 10chips in a large basket with 1salsa for 3 people. When i asked for more apparently i have overstepped my bounds b/c this was a case for huffing and puffing by the server we were bothering him at work what a shame. We finally ordered while drinking our "margaritas" which were nothing but mix and half a shot of tequila. This was not the c & p of old. Our food finally came and was wrong when sent back this was another issue for the server. I calmly explained AGAIN the order which arrived cold 10minutes later. by this time we were hungry and ready to get out of there. Saw a manager running back and forth but never stopped by to see how everything was...WOW grossed out and disgusted now with vomiting and diarrehea from me and my guests...WE WILL NEVER GO BACK STAY AWAY AND GO TO TACO BELL

We have been visiting this restaurant for quite a while now - excellent service and plenty of cheerful atmosphere here - you can dine in or out - they use fresh meats in their burritos and other dishes.
We moved from ft lauderdale over 10yrs ago and when we are in town, we make a date to get to this restuarant and it is still a treat.

Provided by SuperpagesMy husband & I have been going to Carlos & Pepe's for fifteen years & they have truly excellent food. The portions have gone down considerably in the past couple of years, but the food remains fantastic. The service is not the best, but if you have to take one or the other, the food tops all others in the area.

Provided by SuperpagesThe margarita glass makes you feel like you are in a Mexican restaurant drinking a margarita. Should go back to your original glass.

- Carlos & Pepe's was founded in January 1979. Our objective was to develop an authentic Mexican restaurant that catered to the 'Gringo" taste. We have always used nothing but the finest and freshest ingredients that can be found. In a few rare instances where a certain product wasn't available, we would temporarily take the item off the menu rather than substitute something of lesser quality or perhaps a canned item. As an example, we only use King Crab meat in our nachos and enchiladas and have never substituted a lesser product such as snow crab. Our salsa is made with fresh tomatoes and even when tomato prices reached record highs, we refused to substitute canned tomatoes even though it would have saved a fortune in food costs. Likewise our Margaritas are made with only fresh squeezed limes and lemons, a time consuming process, but worth the effort when you take your first sip. Maybe that explains why we've been here for nearly 40 years.Carlos & Pepe's was founded in January 1979.
