I ordered delivery & assembly. They arrived 2 hours late without notice. I called to customer center around 1:50PM and it took me 2 hours to be connected to the customer representative.
When they arrived, they didn't bring one of the furniture. I asked them where it is, and they said they don't know. I asked if they could check with IKEA and they said I should call IKEA. I've already waited 2 hours for the customer service so I asked if they have a direct number and they said they don't have one. I had to wait 3 hours to be connected to the customer service to reschedule.
On the day of rescheduled, nothing came so I called the customer center. I was on the phone for 4 hours to be connected to the customer center and the delivery company (North American Logistics). On the initial call to IKEA, they said to call delivery company. I called the delivery company and initially they said the driver will call me back in 5 minutes. I've waited 30 minutes but I didn't get any calls. I called both IKEA and delivery company again. The second time, they said the drivers didn't receive anything from IKEA to deliver. When I was connected to IKEA after 2 hours, they said they don't know what happened and they can't do anything right now. I was extremely mad at that time because I've wasted my whole day at home, waiting for the delivery.
I had to go to IKEA Emeryville again. I talked to manager directly and told what happened. I said I want full refund of missing furniture, assembly, delivery, and compensation of wasted time and money. He said he'll do full refund. He refunded me $300 but told me, I should purchase the furniture with my money if I want to bring it home to assemble. He said it will be refunded as soon as they find out what happened. He also said someone will reach me for the rescheduling assembly.
BUT I didn't get the refund and no one called me for reschedule. He gave me his number but I left 5 messages but he didn't call me back. I will not use IKEA ever again.

I don't know what it is about the location, but the workers are downright rude. I practically had to chase down someone when I had a question, and they really weren't all that knowledgable. It was clear they wanted to get back to what they were doing. I finally found a few decent workers that were pleasant and helpful, but for the most part the store carried a collectively careless vibe.
When I was leaving, there was a line of people in one of the checking aisles, and two of the checkers were engaged in such deep conversation that no one knew they were open. Despite seeing the line, neither let any of the customers know they were open. You could see the attitudes written on their faces... (Well, if you're too dumb to figure it out, oh well, guess you'll have to stand in line and I get to continue screwing around.) Finally I asked if they were open and the man muttered "uh-huh", and then submitted back to his job, like he'd just been called out. (He had).

I love this store and their food! I also hit the clearance first every time I've found some perfect pre assembled pieces there.

I bought a sink from their clearance dept. It turned out to be missing a few small parts. Ā But altogether, It was pretty, very affordable, and functioned perfectly.



Lastly, when I got tired of shopping and needed a snack, I stopped by their cafeteria. Ā Their cinnamon buns were awesome!

Speaking of house expenses, I recently had a faucet malfunction, so I figured it's about time to replace a couple of things around the house that has been irking me.I bought a rug here yesterday and I do have my eye on a new sink that they have on sale at the clearance isle. The only problem is that it is on clearance, so hopefully it'll still be there when I come back.I've upped my review to 3* by the way because of their excellent cinnamon buns. Mmmmm!
