Weymouth Dog Shop

This place is horrible, my dog is now traumatized from her experience here. I am the owner of a bubbly and affectionate shih-poo. The first time I took her here for grooming I had no issues. The second time was a nightmare. I noticed after pick up that she was shaved really close around the eyes, she is all black and you could see skin. A couple days after her haircut, I noticed a knick on her ear. I was very upset but took it in stride as an "accident" that they should have but did not tell me about. Well a few more days passed and I noticed my dog itching under her ear near her mouth. Upon inspection, I realized that my dog had a huge sore area. I immediately googled and saw more horrible reviews about the same problem. I took her into a pet store to see if she could get a medicated or oatmeal shampoo and my dog saw a razor shear and cowered in fear and trembled. The salon manager hearing my story, stated that she had another dog owner in a couple of weeks prior with the same situation at Weymouth Dog Shop. She mentioned that they don't let the razors cool down in between grooming and don't clean them, GREAT! I called the dog shop and happened to reach the owner who was a real piece of work. I asked him why no one told me about my dogs knicks. He was rude, had the nerve to say "as far as he is concerned my dog was never groomed there", I was crazy, and essentially said it didn't happen. He defended his "best dog groomer" Ericka stating that nothing was documented and he would be stupid not to report a cut and if something happened which it clearly didn't it was unintentional. Well he wasn't there that day at drop off or pick up so clearly he wasn't managing his grooming business. He was rude, unapologetic and acted like I was irrational for being upset that I was not notified of any burn or cut so I could be proactive instead of reactive in treating it. He angered the wrong loving dog owner and was not in the least empathetic. I will make sure this business is reported and exposed for the irresponsible dog grooming business that it is. Do yourself a favor, don't EVER get your dog groomed here. My poor dog is now scared of the groomers (never had a bad experience anywhere else in the last year and a half). Going to this place is not worth saving a few bucks, reality is you get what you pay for and their "discount" equates to a horrible and traumatic grooming experience by an inexperienced and neglectful dog groomer and a now terrified dog who is petrified of getting groomed.

Friendly, responsive, respectful (I went to a groomer in N. Weymouth who chastised me and kept my dog almost all day for something you do well in a few hours). thank you-I love your shop

My bull terrier has been going to this place for some time now and loves it.I fell safe with leaving her either while I'm at work or on vacation.And while I am at work she plays her heart out and comes home well rested. She loves all the staff....but has more of a liking to the ones that give her the most treats.The staff picked up fast that she'll do anything for a treat!! Overall I would recommend this place to anyone...she has NEVER come home wet or injured and has a great time playing while I'm at work.
