Dental Examination
We offer financing options to help make your dental experience stress-free. The average cost of preventive dental care (an X-ray, two dental exams, and cleanings) is $225 a year. That’s just $4.30 a week – about the price of one stop at your favorite coffee shop.
X-rays
We offer a variety of treatment options, in consultation with parents, for those children who are anxious about their procedure. When there’s a need for diagnostic x-rays, we’ve invested in state-of-the-art digital technology for our diagnostic x-rays. They offer more comfort, less radiation and higher precision than traditional x-rays. The results are immediate and shown on a computer screen, so parents can see exactly what the doctor sees and better understand the diagnosis.
Oral Cancer Screening
Every six months, it’s important to schedule a teeth cleaning to prevent cavities and tooth loss. Our teeth cleanings will remove the hardened bacteria that your toothbrush can’t get to alone. This is also the perfect time to ask your dentist what areas of your mouth might need special attention while you brush and floss regularly. You can also expect your dentist to perform an oral cancer screening or take x-rays to really examine your teeth. If we find cavities during the exam, we also offer filling options, including tooth-colored for an almost invisible appearance.

Teeth Cleaning
As you get older, your dental care needs change. As a senior, you may need to keep up with your oral health more than before. Periodontal disease is linked to other diseases like heart disease which is much more common in older individuals. Regular teeth cleanings are essential to catch oral issues before it's too late. Dousman Family Dentistry will save you from painful restorative procedures.
Fluoride Treatment
Your dentist may recommend a fluoride treatment if your teeth are at risk for decay. Fluoride can help add minerals back into your tooth enamel. This treatment alone will not prevent all cavities and tooth decay. Dentists also recommend using toothpaste that contains fluoride, flossing, and watching what you eat/drink to help maintain the integrity of your oral health.
Dental Sealants
Our doctors and staff carefully evaluate the overall health of your teeth and gums, identify tooth decay or other areas of concern and identify alignment or bite problems that may need to be addressed. Sealants or fluoride treatments (through age 16) are often used to protect against cavities. We will also talk with you about any recommendations we have about how to maintain strong and healthy teeth at home.

Fillings
Tooth-colored fillings are also long-lasting (up to 10 years or more of use) with proper care. Brushing twice a day, flossing and scheduling a teeth cleaning every 6 months is crucial for filling maintenance. A lot of people are switching to composite fillings because they are free of mercury, unlike amalgam fillings.
Resin Composite
Made using composite resin and colored to be the same as standard tooth-colored fillings, composite veneers are not quite as strong as porcelan and may stain over time.
Veneers
