Columbus City Schools-Columbus Board of Education

The morning of August 25, 2010 I dropped my child off at the Latchkey program at Moler Elementary. She was to be bussed to school at Stewart Alternative, and then returned back to Moler on the same bus later that day. Her afternoon arrival time at Moler was 3:56.

Well, the teacher running the latchkey program there called me at 4:57 to tell me that my daughter had never arrived, and she was going out to search for her herself (which I am eternally grateful for). I called Stewart, as they were the last people to see my child, and couldn't get through. the phone lines rang busy for the remainder of the day. I am not familiar with what policy is for a missing child in Columbus City Schools, but I TRUSTED these people to put my child on the correct bus and safely get her to her destination. They did not do that. If it wasn't for the busdriver, I wouldn't know where my child was. Transportation wouldn't respond to my calls, the police couldn't get through to them either, and business hours were not over yet. I am VERY disappointed with their work.

My son's school (Columbus Bilingual Academy) started Aug. 14th and had to push the date back to the 27th due to transportation problems. It is now a month later and my son still has no bus service, every time I call they say they haven't established a route for him or that if they put him on a bus it messes with everyone Else's service, oh not to mention they said their is nothing they can do if i applied after June 2012 well I applied April 2012 and still they cant do nothing...Columbus Public Transportation office stinks...I know its not the bus drivers fault because my mom is a bus driver for another district...its Debbie Weber who needs to get it together...
