Youth Guidance works inside the Chicago Public Schools. It has a staff of social service professionals that helps at-risk kids deal with problems that can prevent them from getting a good education. The organization s Comer school development program is a system change program that is utilized by school districts at more than 800 Web sites across the United States to improve the educational environment for at-risk children. Additionally, it helps schools to create an educational environment by bringing together parents, teachers and community leaders. Youth Guidance offers counseling and creative arts programs that help children in their efforts to overcome obstacles, such as gangs, abuse, violence, drugs, pregnancy and poverty. Its counseling services include individual, group and family therapies, and crisis intervention. Youth Guidance is located in Chicago.
