Plantar Fasciitis
With the marathon season quickly approaching, many runners are lacing up their shoes and hitting the road. Unfortunately, up to 50% of runners end up with an injury significant enough to impact their training. This is due to the high impact forces a runner’s body incurs (up to 8x the runner’s bodyweight) while training. The most common injuries include anterior knee pain, iliotibial-band syndrome, achilles tendinopahty and plantar fasciitis.
Medical Weight Loss
Begin with the basics. When starting a new workout regimen, people often forget the foundations: sleep and food. Whether your goal is strength gains or weight loss, making sure that you have a diet full of powerful nutrition to fuel your body through a workout will help you not only that day but in subsequent recovery. Sleep is also the period in which our nervous system can take a break to recuperate from daily stressors and your new workouts. When our body is unable to fully recover from the stresses of exercise, injury is more likely to occur.

Through individualized physical therapy programs, she seeks to educate and empower her patients to understand and alleviate their pain. Because she believes in a holistic approach to health and well-being, she may refer patients to other healthcare practitioners, including nutritionists, acupuncturists, Kinetic Konnections™ and Feldenkrais practitioners, and mental health professionals.

Physical Therapy Practice Act: By law in Illinois, PTs can treat clients without a signed prescription or Plan of Care (POC) for up to 21 days. If your treatment extends beyond these 21 days, we need a signature acknowledging a POC from your healthcare provider (MD, DDS, DC, DO, NP, PA). This is why we will ask for your healthcare provider’s information when you call.

Since she began her practicing in 1992, she has utilized and developed her manual therapy skills and knowledge in outpatient orthopedic settings by working with individuals with a variety of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal dysfunctions and injuries. Her manual therapy skills include advanced training in myofascial release, visceral mobilization, craniosacral therapy, Primal Reflex Release Techniques, and Body Talk, among others. She strives for ongoing professional development through continuing education coursework.
