Petropolis

Please be careful when leaving your cat in the cat hotel. My cat was not watch very well during his most recent stay. He was returned to me with an open -wound. Not that they actually told me he sustained a wound during any of my daily calls. The staff said they did not notice the 2in x 1 in open-wound gash on his neck. Seriously? The vet said it could not have been "missed". :(

I'm always greeted by friendly faces when I walk in with my pooches. They have a blast every time they go! Keep up the great work!

My Scottish Terrier, Gracie, is a big Petropolis fan! She's been going there once a week for day camp for the past few years and is also a frequent boarder. She gets very excited whenever we pull into the parking lot, so I know she is happy to be there. Everyone on staff is friendly and it's easy to see they really care about pets. It gives me a lot of peace of mind knowing Gracie will be well taken care while I am traveling. I also love the frequent holiday parties Petropolis throws for day campers...and the fact that they support local animal charities.

My name is Tabby. I am a 9 month old standard poodle. I will never forger leaving my mom and all my brothers and sisters. We drove all the way from Indiana to Missouri. I cried and threw up. My new family took me to a "mean" trainer. I was so frightened, I had diarrhea.



Then they brought me to Petropolis :) Rebecca was so kind to me, and I wanted to please her. I did everything she taught me. This made everyone smile - including me! Jan gives me a bath and grooms me. I can tell that this makes me beautiful, because everyone, everywhere I go smiles and pets me :)



I have made friends with so many dogs that I didn't even miss my sisters and brothers anymore. My friends and I have so much fun playing together!!! I really like my friends too! Did I mention the yummy bacon-cheddar ice cream? Priceless! Come spend the day with me at Petropolis.

Everyone @ Petropolis is very professional and amazing! They all treat the animals as if they were their own, and really care about each of them. Their daycare facility is one of a kind, I've tried taking my dogs to different daycare centers, but no one's daycare can come close to theirs. I wouldn't trust my animals anywhere else! Thanks for all your hard work guys!

Paxton, Samson, and Guinness (my small pack of mutts) go nuts for this place. I try to take them to doggie day care (yes I know) once a month when they get groomed. They come home clean, happy, and socialized, and it is pretty cost effective as an add-on to their normal bath service.



Doggy daycare is more or less a dog park with drop off service. There are anywhere between 10-30 or so dogs that play outside together in their fenced in doggy playland (it even has a doggy pool) while being supervised by a staff member.



Oh yeah - you can even get a dog treat from the bakery when you leave.



It is a great way for me to pamper my pooches!

Hands-down the best place to get your pet groomed in St. Louis. My dog hates going to most groomers but she loves Petropolis. The people that work there are so sweet to her and she actually gets excited when she walks in the door.



Petropolis goes out of its way to make grooming (and boarding) a positive experience for your four-legged friend. My sister's dog has outrageous separation anxiety coupled with the urge to snarl at anyone who tries to pick him up but, somehow he let the groomer scoop him up like a baby and take him to be groomed. According to my mom, it was like an episode dog whisperer.



My puppy comes back from her "spa day" with a spring in her step, bouncy/shiny hair and smelling better than I do!

Our Dogs love Petropolis and that says a lot!!! I have used many facilities over the years and always felt horrible for having to leave my pets behind. Now I can travel and feel secure with the knowledge of how well my pets are cared for and not worry constantly. I can't say enough good things about the staff, they are... professional, courteous, caring, and kind...they go out of their way to make your pets feel loved and cared for. When I used "kennels" and "spas" in the past my dogs always came home acting wild from lack of exercise and attention, when I pick them up from Petropolis they are happy to greet me but they don't make that dash for the door...they say bye to their new friends and seem happy and relaxed.



I love the report cards that show how much time your pet spends playing with others and how much they went outside and how they behaved. That is tremendous for me to be able to see that my pets got individual treatment and even what toys or new friends they played with, and the fact that they even let you know how much time your pet spent paying verses sun bathing well that just goes above and beyond!!



We own what are considered "bully breed" dogs and this is the first facility I have ever found that didn't judge my dogs on what breed they are but solely on how they act and interact. There was no prejudice what so ever which I find amazing!



I drive an hour just to be able to use Petropolis and would never consider taking my "babies" anywhere else. Petropolis is their vacation home and I can finally take vacations again!!!



P.S. I tasted the treats from the bakery and I can see why my dogs love them!! LOL

Odie and Sully always love their stay at Petropolis and are always happy for a return visit. We feel assured that they are getting plenty of exercise on the outdoor playground. They are really social dogs and enjoy this aspect of Petropolis. When the dogs are returned to us they are always well-groomed and smelling clean. Thanks for taking care of our dogs while we are away!!



We also love the convenience of grooming, training, and boarding facility all in one. That is priceless!

My dog Jake loves to go to Petropolis for his training classes and visit the Doggie Bakery. His trainers have made life so much easier for the whole family.

When I travel it is so nice to know that my crazy Border Collie Harley will be in great hands. Petropolis has the best boarding facility in St. Louis hands down! I can enjoy myself knowing that Harley is happy, getting exercise, &amp; being social in a nice clean environment. Thanks Roxanne and Petropolis for making my boy... feel special &amp; loved when I am not around to care for him. You are truly the best!

My dogs, Anjelica (8) and Margarita (4), are spoiled little Chihuahuas with some BIG attitudes! Roxanne and Rob are helping me socialize them (better late than never) and train them and we have seen a difference immediately. As I type they are being boarded and I can leave them worry free knowing they love the staff an...d are getting the social skills they didn't learn as puppies. The entire staff has been amazing with me (an over protective dog mom) and my girls (who bark, bite, growl and fuss). We are joining a group of real pet lovers and gaining practical knowledge and experience that will help me enjoy my dogs more and help them understand boundaries, rewards, obedience and appreciate other people and dogs. I shopped around to all the other facilities and couldn't be more pleased or comfortable with thebeautiful and positive environment at Petropolis... Thanks so much to all of you!!!

The previous reviewer is correct, looks fancy from the lobby but the accomodations are less than desirable. My dog came home exausted, skittish, vommiting, dirty, and they sprayed some coconut smelling stuff on him without our knowledge, and he has allergies so it made him itchy and gave him a rash. You would think from the inflated prices they would be a lot more classy of a place. But beware, your animal will be kept in a glorified crate, with a full view of the other animals (this is what they reffer too as their &quot;2 room condo&quot; When I called to find out if anything had happened to cause his abnormal behavior I was hung up on. What a joke!

i've been taking my animals off-and-on to kennels for years, this is the worst place we've ever been to. smells, staff are rude and uncaring, they seem greedy and corporate. we will never be back. be warned, do not go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not the place for us. our pets were returned to us having lost weight and obviously stressed. we took a tour prior to boarding and should have insisted on seeing the ENTIRE facility, especially where our babies would be. turns out, the facility is just a big warehouse where the dogs lay on grates, the staff seems SLIM, and they &quot;claim&quot; you cannot take a FULL tour because, &quot;it upsets the dogs.&quot; upon first impression, the place seemed nice, but ultimately is phoney.

If you're looking for an upscale full service pet care store, this is the place. Petropolis has unique pet items and gifts, and has a boarding facility that is more like a hotel for pets!
