My daughter's Sweet 16 cake Nadine made was HORRIBLE Tasting! Word spread quickly "Don't Eat The Cake" I was left with 3/4 of the cake. I paid over $200 for an inedible cake. She refused to compensate, she actually hung up on me after admitting colored frosting doesn't have a good taste (never told us when ordering). I would NEVER use or recommend Cakes by Nadine!! #NadinesCakesAwful #CakesByNadineGross

I set up an appointment for 1/31/2015 at 3 pm. Now Nadine was still with some other appointment and I had no problem with that but what I did have a problem with was Lena at the front desk who was very rude. What Lena and Nadine didn't know was I was willing to pay any price to have a simple wedding cake but Lena messed that up. My fiancé and I walk in and I let her know that we had a 3 o'clock appointment. Lena informed me in a very rude tone that I didn't not have an appointment because it was not in the book. I informed her that I spoke to Nadine and she said no you don't have an appointment because it was not in the appointment book. And I was thinking if you wanted this business, you need to change your tone but she never did. She informed us that we didn't need an appointment to taste cakes so the one nice thing she did was bring samples out for my fiancé and I but we never got to look at flowers and go over the cake that we wanted. I guess I dodged a bullet with this one THANX LENA!!!!!!! This place is NOT a recommendation ......And the only reason why this business got one star from me is because it would not let me leave the stars blank.

After my daughter started watching Cake Boss she wanted a special cake like that for her birthday. So 3 years ago I found this place and asked her to make a 3d tabby cat cake. I was stunned when we picked it up! It was beautiful and exactly how my daughter wanted it! She was even able to find a princess crown to put on top of the kitties head. :) The cake was so good it was the first time I never had cake left over.



The following year I requested a double tier princess cake with a castle. Nadine did it again! It was gorgeous! I even had parents come over from other parties asking me where I had gotten the cake. Once again I came home with 0 cake. lol



Today I am picking up my 3rd cake from her for my daughters birthday. :) It is themed Monster High and is going to be a lg hot pink coffin. I know I will NOT be disappointed.



This time we are getting marble cake with fudge inside and butter cream frosting. :) Her cakes are always presented great and taste even better than they look! I find it hard for people to get both right but Nadine hits the mark every time!

I contracted Nadine to make a cake for my wedding last month. It was a pretty simple wedding cake with not a lot of frills so this should have been easy for them. Despite our initial pleasant interaction with her, the rest of the process was a bit of a nightmare (Don't be fooled by Nadine's old lady charm... she is shrewd and deceptive when it comes to making a buck).



We worked with over a dozen vendors for our wedding and Nadine was the worst... by far. Nearly all of the traits that we love in most of our vendors (promptness, fairness, good personality, punctuality, well-organized) Nadine lacked. She was late for meetings, failed to call back or follow up on important details and was unresponsive and disorganized when we had questions or concerns.



We set up an initial meeting with her partner Jean who I would describe as flaky and abrasive. Her role was to understand what we wanted our cake to look like, approve the design, give us the cost information and book our date for the wedding. Though she managed to approve our cake design, she apparently got the cost wrong to the tune of $200 despite me submitting a drawing explaining everything we wanted on the cake a week after our initial meeting. It took ~ 40 minutes to have her understand our simple "minimalist" cake design... If you've dreamt up a design or had aspirations for more than the crusty old cakes that you see in Nadine's display case, turn around and walk out now.... better yet run.



Nadine doesn't "get it." They are way out of touch with modern designs and today's brides' concerns and vision. Don't expect Nadine to email you or call for that matter.. expect her to lose paper work. Expect her to forget that you put down a down payment. Don't expect to pay with a credit card! You will be lucky if she shows up to your final consultation meeting!



We chose Nadine because we thought we could save a few hundred bucks on the cake... we were wrong. When it came down to it they ended up charging us more than we originally agreed to on our contract putting her pricing inline with many of the other "more expensive" bakeries.



Nadine called me the day before my wedding to see if the flower and ribbon on the cake was to my lliking... as if I had nothing better to do the day before my wedding! The color of the rose was nothing like the color swatch I gave her and she said there was nothing she could do about it. I told her this is why I had asked her to show me an example of the rose at our final meeting (which she did not have and called me a liar saying she never agreed to do this)



On the day of the wedding, the rose was more of a yellowish color than rose color as a I had requested and the ribbon was a much darker grey than I had asked for. And to think I ended up paying more in the end for poor customer service, added stress, and a cake that didn't look like what I had requested! What a disappointment! I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE go to Nadine's!

My daughter and I were very pleased with Nadine. She took the time to chat with us and let us taste all her samples..not to mention this was over a holiday weekend. How many businesses would do that? I first tasted her cakes at Dillard's at a bridal fair and knew that when my daughter married, she would be my choice. The cake was absolutely fabulous and indescribably delicious. Everyone loved it.. we never stopped getting compliments. Thank you Nadine from the bottom of my heart.!!! Your set-up was really lovely too. Keep up the great work!! God Bless...

I have been using Cakes by Nadine for at least 6 years and am ALWAYS exceptionally pleased with both the taste and appearance of my cakes. Nadine is an artist (ALWAYS HAS A WONDERFUL IDEA FOR AN OCCASION WHEN I'M AT A LOSS !!) and does NOT EVER skimp on taste. This is not easy as I have very high expectations. In my opinion, all my cakes were "SIX STAR" !!!!!

I would not recommend this company to anyone!!!!!! The cake tasted horrible in fact we couldn't even eat it. It was not decorated the way it was supposed to be not even close!! Then when I tried to get a hold of her to report this it took two weeks and me threatening to report her to the better business. When she finally called me she was rude and argued with me.



On top of all of this she was the most expensive quoted cake place. A sheet cake at Giant Eagle for $30 tastes better!!!

Cakes by Nadine does a wonderful job on cakes and the price is right. Best cake in the area in my opion. I will use Cakes by Nadine over and over again for my cake needs.
