General Info

Cardinal Cushing School is located in Braintree, Mass., and provides functional academics, daily living skills, and vocational and recreational programs for students with developmental disabilities, emotional, behavioral and physical challenges. Classes offered by the center include reading and writing, physical activities, arts and crafts, and computer games and activities. The school offers a wide range of services, such as speech, language, occupational and physical therapy, sensory integration, motor development programs and therapeutic horseback riding, and team sports, and participates in Special Olympics. Recreational activities are offered within the regular school day program. Its facility includes a computer lab, horticultural club, a caf where students shop, prepare and serve meals to staff and other students, goods store, and a movable bakery. The center provides special programs, such as readiness activities for daily living, crisis intervention, functional academics, vocational training, psychological evaluations, and school nursing services, and social skills development.
