Emergency Care
Janette has five children and teaches music. Her back pain became so intense that she found it difficult to sit, teach music and look after her family. Her back and leg problems became progressively worse and she had to race to a hospital emergency room for treatment.

MRI
Sam met Dr. Tang who evaluated him and detailed the cause of his neck problems. After a physical exam and a careful evaluation of his MRI, Dr. Tang offered Sam a seemingly difficult neck surgery to remove the pain in his neck.

Bring your MRI, CT scans and x-rays. Although films are preferred, CDs are acceptable. Self-duplicated CDs and USB drives are generally not acceptable. Please note that reports do not replace the actual films. Imaging centers will generally not send films.

Physical Therapy
Lumbar fusion is a surgical procedure that aims to treat back pain. It is considered a treatment of last choice. The pain occurs because the back is not strong enough to support a patient’s weight or their activity level. Patients almost always have a dramatically abnormal MRI such as a collapsed disc or most commonly, spondylolistheis, which is a slippage of the bones of the back. Because a lumbar fusion places extra stress on the levels above and below the surgery, it is less recommended for younger patients. A lumbar fusion is typically a last resort option for the patient. It is considered only after all other measures such as physical therapy and injections have been exhausted.
