Mr. Tubs

He was there when he said he would be which was great. However, I think the finished job was good. Not great but good. We have an old clawfoot tub that was in need of refinishing. Mr Tubs came and looked at it, and said no problem. He came back when he said he would to do the job. In the meantime, my husband disconnected and removed the faucets and drain hardware, to make the job easier. Then we proceeded to move the tub to the empty room next to the bathroom. All ready for the refinishing! Drop cloths were under the tub, ready to go. So Mr Tubs did the job in about 3 hours. The finished product looks great initially, as long as you stand way back. The small dings did not get totally filled in. The clawfeet do not look great. They should have had an extra coat or two. When I mentioned the feet, he said he would leave us some extra paint, so we could do those, after positioning the tub. OK. My husband put some extra paint on the feet that afternoon. Good thing, because the paint was like jelly the next morning. Feet still are not great looking. Then the worst part, was paint was spilled on our wood floors as he was leaving. He ignored it, until I mentioned it. He tried to clean it, but managed to spread it around, and take the finish off the wood floor. We have paste wax and linseed oil finish. In the room where the tub was done is some more white paint spilled on the vinyl floor. Mr. Clean will not remove, as well as ammonia. Don't want to ruin the vinyl floor, so paint still there. Professionalism was very much lacking. My husband was totally disgusted. He charged $100.00 more than originally quoted but I assumed that was because we moved the tub, therefore requiring him to do the entire tub rather than what he could reach when in place in the bathroom. I would not recommend him due to the lack of professionalism. Not sure how long he has been doing this, but looks like not long.
