Fort Branch at Truman's Landing Apartments

All I have to say is DO NOT MOVE HERE. They are the worst apartments I have ever lived in. We moved here 2012. We live on a 2nd floor, 2 bedroom apartment.



There is no PRIVACY here for anyone. Every couple months within a year, they send people to inspect your home, all the while you are sitting on your couch as if a SWAT team is raiding your home for something that you more than likely don't have, or so that is how it felt. As of 2014, there are new owners now and management has gave off the impression that they will be getting strict, seeing as they sent us a letter about a week ago detailing how they were going to send someone to "patrol" the apartments, checking everyone's patios/balconies to make sure no one has trash or non-outdoor furniture on them.



It's not KID-FRIENDLY here. The window in the middle room which is my children's room is too big, double in size, which makes it accessible for small kids to climb on and potentially fall out of 2nd or 3rd floor apartments.



PEACE IS NOT GUARANTEED here, word for word from Manager Kelly, after a long argument with her on the phone about my complaint to noise disturbances. Parents here let their kids of all ages run around without supervision, some who like to run up and down stairs, often vibrating the inside of apartment walls. Had a kid throwing his basketball constantly on the rails of our balcony. Walking my own kids to school, I'd fine children writing curse words on apartment walls and sidewalks.



Almost all the time, there is no where to park especially at night. The parking lot is so complex and makes no sense.



If you decide to move on the 2nd or 3rd floors and you have children, you might want to reconsider. Management has proven to not care in the slightest when downstairs neighbors harass or retaliate with loud vibrating music (til 3 am) against their upstairs neighbors just because upstairs neighbors have children younger than 5 years old running around before curfew hour. Instead, a violation was sent to the upstairs neighbor with children for noise disturbance, which, by the way, goes against tenant rights for discrimination.



Every couple of weeks, the fire alarms will just go off. They're being tested, but my god, it will do it at 7 or 8 am when all the babies are asleep and wake you up with the most startling heart attack feeling.



There's no SECURITY. I have seen people's windows busted a lot living here. Here, I thought we would be able to avoid it before the time came to move but that wasn't the case. My husband only had Lego toys sitting on his dashboard in which a kid (haven't found which kid) busted his car windshield and stole those Lego toys. Ridiculous, isn't it? Don't bother having any toys in your car (maybe to hide for someone's birthday) that are worth less than $5 in your car otherwise it might happen to you too! And to think this happened during the day when everyone is out and about. Management does not hold responsibility for any theft so there's no way to repair window shield but out of our own pocket.



Last of all, there is just way too much racism going on here.
