Hot Stone Massage
Experience the aromatic power of traditional North American plants fused with the sensation of smooth stone massage. Your massage therapist will begin your massage experience by guiding you to choose an Aroma to incorporate into your experience. During a hot stone massage, your therapist will use stones that are smooth, flat, and usually made of the volcanic rock type called basalt. These stones are chosen because they retain heat. The stones used for your massage are placed in hot water to warm up before being applied to your body. Then, the techniques of a regular massage are applied as your therapist holds on to the stone, applying pressure into the muscles and helping you relax deeply. Hot stones can promote relaxation of the muscles and joints in the body to ease both pain and spasms, creating a therapeutic experience. Opposing sensations of warm and cool-fused stone techniques can also soothe and invigorate your body.
